By what your saying, yes the drum belt is stretched and or is sliding out of track. You can check this by removing the back panel, be sure to shut or unplug power first, then you will be able to see what i am talking about. hope this helps

Hi I have an whirlpool awz2303 drier where the belt has snapped, got the belt taken it all apart cleaned it up all ready. Now I am looking at the jockey pulleys like garbage, all the instructables I have seen have single tension pulleys, this has two in a V with a spring in the middle, the belt obviously does not thread through it. Does it just sit with the belt kinda clamped between the pulleys like a clothes peg? I can\'t find anything on the web to describe it.

The drum is not turning, where is the belt?

depends on the dryer model.
whirlpool kenmore and others from White industries is wrapped around the drum. U must open it up from the top and front.
Maytag and others r around a pully and I think r accessed from the rear. may as well buy a front seal and high temp adheasive for the drum belt style. It will probably need it.

Hi, I have a Beko DRCT70W tumble dryer and the belt keeps breaking. I've replaced it twice in the last month, so I think there must be another fault with the dryer which is causing this. The drum...

hi folks the beko tumble dryers have a felt seal that runs along the front of the drum that wears through causing load on the drum, belt and motor causing the belt to melt and snap, replace the felt you will have no more issues, i got mine off of ebay pretty cheap

Heating works but drum doesnt turn.

Try turning drum, or remove top from dryer to confirm if belt has gone. When turning drum there should be some resistance as the belt fits around the drum

My whirlpool AWZ2303 only seems to be blowing cold

If your not getting heat from the machine its probably due to a faulty heating element. You can get the part at an appliance parts shop by bringing them the model number or you can call in a pro repairman to have a look and replace it. Do it yourself is cheaper by far but can be difficult on newer machines like this one.

Thermal Fuse keep failing

Fuse and element failure is related to lack of air passing over the element. The drum and fan should run even if the heater is inoperative. Find out what is stopping them, then work on heat. If motor is running, there should be air flow--pull vent hose from wall outlet--should be brisk air flow. If not, remove the lint screen and check again. If now ok, soak the lint screen in hot water and detergent. If drum does not turn, check the drive belt and if it sits properly on motor pulley.

Whirlpool dryer WED5530SQ0, heats but does not run

So,. basically your drum doesnt turn. SO your getting heat still even though the drum isnt turning. Is this right? Sounds strange??? Do you hear any humming noise when you push the start button? I need to know a little more about the problem because im kinda confused as how you decribed the problem. Iv never seen a dryer heat but the drum not spinning. especially your model dryer. Its electric heat right? because if the drum doesnt spin, maybe your motor is bad. and if your motor is bad, then your heating element wont heat up because the centrifical switch in the motor is not switching to complete the circuit to the heating element. So this is why im confused when you said" Dryer heats when knob turned but when "push button" pressed, drum doesnt run." Because your belt wraps around the motor pully and the motor is what makes the drum turn. Like i said, i never seen this model dryer heat with out the motor operating. So if you can give me some more info, ill do my best to help you out....Thanks!!!!

Whirlpool gas dryer motor wont turn over

If the drum is not turning, then the belt may have broken and could be (because of the noise I think your describing, partially wrapped around the motor pulley.

Modern gas dryers do not have standing pilot lights. They are electronic ignition.

Chances are, you solve the belt problem, you'll solve the (I guess your having) heat problem.

Please respond with more detail of the problems you are having, and advise if the belt is broken.

Whirlpool dryer LEC8858EQ2

one of 2 things, over temp protection activating due to insufficient ventillation or motor is defective and heating up excessively.normally if both drum support wheels are worn or defective, plus if veld strip on drum is worn, motor will overwork and fail.
