Re: dvd player will not open

Look at the bottom of the unit and see if it has a slot to put in a pin and manually open the drive, most of them have some way to do this look for a slot or pin hole to push the release, sometimes they do this because someone pushes the drawer closed instead of using the button or remote, you will have to open it to reset it if that is the case you might have to easily force it open.

SOURCE: dvd player will not open

the problem is internal and the only way is to bring it back to the store you just bought it. because it is still under warranty, since it is just newly bought.

Good luck

DVD player will not open

1. This problem is with the drive mechanization. If belt driven the small belt that pulls the gear has become stretched and need replacment.
2. If this is direct drive then the gear has lost sync or is worn and need service.
3. To remove disc you can unscrew the 4 to 6 screws to open the cabinet ( this will void any warranties) but you can rotate the gear in clockwise movement to retrieve the disk.
4.If there is a belt there you can carefully remove the belt and apply a coating of "Rejuvenate" to it and it will last for about 3 months. before the belt will not be useful. Note: that the application is careful applied and allowed to dry thoroughly before installing the belt again.
5. Most DVD players are disposable lasting only for 10000 to 50000 plays.

''Wrong Disk'' error

You'll need to check the region code of your player.

Make sure you have no discs in the player, and unplug the unit.
Plug it in and turn it on.
Open, then close the tray (with no disc!)
Press the Setup button, then select Load Setup
Press the Enter
While it it loading, press Menu.
When the box appears with a number, confirm it says 1 (region code 1 = USA). If it doesn't, please change it to 1 using the Up / Down buttons.
Press Enter to accept the change.
