Question about Mitsubishi WT-46807 46" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

We were watching a DVD last night and heard a "pop"

Like a light bulb...now the TV won't turn on. I tried the menu/input thing and got the power light flashing twice-pause-flashing twice.

2 BLINKS, A PAUSE AND 2 BLINKS is short protection------most common reason for this is one of the two pico fuses that protect the 2 STK-392-570 convergence IC'S is blown----set will detect this and shut down instantly.

Someone needs to locate the fuses (usually on center board in the middle and towards the back) and check them---they are not glass fuses but look like a resistor and are solid green in color---there should be 4 or 5 of them---the two closest to the back of the set should have location numbers printed on the top of the board and are FA904 and FA905---both will be marked on the board as 5 A--5 amp.

If either or both are gone--they and the two convergence chips need to be replaced.

Let me know if you need any more information about what this repair consists of.

Nothing happens. power on,can hear click

I had the same problem, but I saw the events leading to it. I was watching TV, went to help the wife, heard a pop, came back to find the TV off. Turned it on, heard the same click you described. I believe you need a new bulb. Mine lasted around 2 years of heavy use. Bought two on ebay. Make sure to consult your manual for the particulars on the bulb.
