I have an Olympus C-700 camedia with no installation software. I also have Windows Vista and I see that others are having trouble with Vista also.

1st. Will I need the CD to install or can I get a free download from Olympus to install the camera on my computer?

2nd. What will I have to do if problem #1 above is solved but I have trouble with the Vista as the other people have.

I am desperate, please help if you can, Thank you, Sharon

Two options...first you can just let windows detect the pictures on the camera and use a windows based programs to load the pics and print them...or you can google the drivers for your camera model and download them off the web...there may be updated drivers for that camera which would help anyway.

Here's one from left field,

Download this photo app. It on all new customer's software builds.

After that, yes, there is an XP Mode available for free download to users of W7 Pro, Ultimate or Enterprise and would run your previous more "friendly" version.

Two computers ago, and two operating systems ago I purchased MGI Photosuite 4 software. I have been using it for about 10 years. I have hundreds of collages saved that require the MGI software to read and...

Wndows installers have changed over the years, so it's not a surprise that the program couldn't be reinstalled. The Roxio Photosuite 8 is listed as a Win2000-XP product; so it may not be the correct release for Win7 either unless you use a workaround. Look here for the current Roxio slide show products: http://www.roxio.com/enu/store/photo.html?rTrack=m_pro_photo

Workarounds: go with a dual-boot or virtual computer system. Win7 Pro and Ultimate let you run a virtual XP computer for free (download two programs - the virtual PC software and then XP mode). All other choices will require a licensed version of XP installed either in the virtual computer program or in a second partition for dual-boot. I've found that files can not be transferred directly from XP mode to the real computer; they must be stored on external media. Then install your software as you would on any stand-alone computer.

I hope this helps.

Hi,
The only thing you can try is windows update. Go to start, program, windows update, run the update and look for a hardware update in the left column, make sure the web cam is pluged in and turn on first.
Good luck.

Do download them through the usb port and cable or do you insert the memory card itself? Try inserting the card into the computer slot and see what is on it. Also try installing the camera software disc again, it might be missing some files. Upgrade the software from the net also, if it gets too old like the one from an older Fuji, they no longer support it.

Lost software disc which allow to download movies and photos'

The software disk contains third party programs of which Sanyo gave you license to use. You can download separate programs but you will also need to purchase their license. For the connectivity if you are using windows XP then just plug-in your camera into the USB port and it will automatically install so you can copy your photos and videos. The CD has the following software:

QuickTime 6.5

Ulead Photo Explorer 8.5 SE Basic (Windows)/Photo Explorer for Mac 2.0
(Macintosh)

Motion Director SE 1.1 (Windows)

Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0 SE (Windows)

Software Upgrade

This error message indicates that the drivers are not digitally signed by Microsoft. In the event that you receive the error message referenced above, please continue with the install. Despite the fact that these particular drivers have not received the digital signature from Microsoft, they will work on Windows XP.

If you have difficulty installing the software from a direct update through the web, download the file first to your PC and then run it from there, if possible. Should you still have difficulties, try a clean boot of the camera software as explained here:

Hope that helps. Kindly take a moment to rate this solution a Fixya if you found it helpful. thanks.

Can't install software for D53 on my new Vista PC

If it is older software, it is probably not made to run on Vista Operating Systems. I would check the market for something Vista compatible. Samsung might even have updated software on their website for purchase. But you might want to do some bargain hunting around the net first.
Or you could always just connect the camera to the computer and copy the pictures into the "My pictures" folder on your computer. And with Vista's "Windows Image Viewer" (or something of that nature) you can do basic things to the photos, like adjust brightness, contrast, or saturation. You could also crop the photos, and more. The Vista provided image viewer is probably equal to what you could do to photos in the software.
