Wii just started giving error messages on each game we have, it was fine for about 3 weeks and all of a sudden, none of the games are accepted. Shoes error message.

Same Problem

May 19, 2009

-   I have the exact same problem AND I sent it to be fixed and they told me nothing was wrong with it! Then they told me to send them in one of our games and I did that but they said it was working fine for them so I had to pay the $35 (plus what it cost me to send to them) and when it was returned - it was still not playing. Though this time when a game was put in it ejected it then took it back in spun the disk and then spat it right out!! I have contacted customer support and they sent me a pre-paid bag to send it to them again .... wonder what will happen now - something tells me that we never should have gotten a Wii in the first place! -   ammo_76

-   At first, the Wii would just say there was a disc error with every disc, then later the disc slot wouldn't take in the disc until the disc was forced in, then it would just spit it out 3 minutes later.-   blobberberry

-   Same as all others. Following introductory screens after turning the wii on and loading the disc, the message comes up saying to eject disc and turn the power off. This was happening on all games and now seems to mainly be happening on Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero World Tour and Mario Smash Bros. There is a loud clicking sound in the console during these failed operations. Very frustrating. We have a lot of money invested in games, etc. and for it to stop working now (and with seemingly no solution), is beyond frustrating...it feels like we are being ripped off. We have thoroughly cleaned all discs as once we were told that this would solve the problem. -   Guest

-   I put in any disc, it says "an error has occured press eject & turn power off." Can't seem to solve.-   sandra82

-   I actually had the WII system for not quite a year, and it started to read error on every game we had. We contacted support and they said we had to pay for it to get fixed. We unplugged the system for more than 24hrs. and the problem was still unresolved, we also followed every step the tech had told us to do, than was informed we needed to send it in for repair. Now it has been sitting for quite some time.-   alisal81

Contact Nintendo on 0870 60 60 247. The product is under warranty for 12 months, as long as you have your receipt they are obliged to fix your machine or replace it.

I sent my Wii to Beetronix. They fixed it in a day and cost me $120 for a new laser. It has worked fine ever since.

We have done all they have said to do. Ours does make the clicking sound also. Have tried it vertically and horizontally. Same problems.

We had the same problem with our Wii. It was making the clicking sound and we were getting the error message. We couldn't get the power to shut off and had to unplug it. Eventually we sent it back for repairs and they put a new drive system in it. It worked fine for about a month, and now the error messages are starting again.

Every thing they said. Also experience delay in guitar Hero 3 Systems is  2 days old and it started right away. I will be calling the Wii people! This stinks!.

Our Wii is 2 months old and we are getting the same problem of having to unplug the console after we load a disc and get the error message. It seems to be happening more frequently, about every 3rd time we use it and sometimes we have to unplug it more than once to get it to work. It makes a clicking sound, that others have mentioned, as if the drive can't read the disc and keeps jumping back. This is happening with brand new discs. I have unplugged it for an hour which didn't help. I have added an SD memory card which didn't help. I have tried the console horizontally which didn't help.

I am having the same problem! A clicking sound starts with every disc we put in then the error message appears.

Same problem. The disk in the console makes an audible clicking sound which is the precursor to the black screen and white text error message. The system is two weeks old. The frequency of the problem is increasing. Seems like it takes 2-5 "eject, power off, unplug cord, and start over" reboots before it works again. Love to get a real solution. This shouldn't happen so often.

Error message tells you to eject disc, turn power off, and restart. When we first got it, it did it a couple times, but now (2 weeks old) it seems to do it frequently.
