Access code I hooked a v-chip cable to my tv, I am getting no volume because it is asking me for a access code.

The cable company remote will have under settings a program code function for the remote. Setting the Samsung code will enable the cable remote to adjust the volume. Many TVs have more than one code. You may need to try several to get the right one.

the attached images are examples of this process. Your remote supplied from the cable provider will have its own unique process. Consult the info supplied with the remote. Access the help feature available with some cable services. Your cable provider may have the help function available on their Website.

That means that output varies with with volume control, but you have to set speaker off to activate the audio output, this is done in this same audio menu.

Try the four zero digit code to unlock

Even with the TV in the wrong mode, you should be able to see some channels lower than 12. Try that first and report here what you see. If you can get a few in that range (2-12) but nothing else, then the TV is in broadcast mode not cable. You will need to change it to cable mode to get the remaining channels. You should be able to locate a universal remote for $5 or so that will allow you to get into the menus.

Had same problem with this reciever over the weekend. I had to hook up a TV to the COMPOSITE monitor jack and then I could see the menus. I could never get it to show the menu over the component outputs, however a DVD player hooked up played perfectly. Anyone have a solution?

hey i sort of hav the same problem except, i cant access the "channel" with my sons game stuff on it
if i click menue then it just givs me "Picture" "Channel Set" "Language" "V-Chip Set-Up" "Captions" and if i click channel set i get "CH{TY}" "CH{CATV}" "CH{DTV/TV}" and v-chip asks me for an access code. and i got this tv from a friend and he lost the remote. i only hav an iO Digital Cable remote. help me plz

Yes,there is a cable RF connector on the back of this TV (see diagram). After you connect the cable you need to access the menu to autoprogram the channels.Since you don't have the original remote to do this,you might be able to work thru the menus using the menu button on the TV itself.

1) Hit [MENU]. Press [CH up / down] to select ?V-CHIP SET UP?, then hit [VOL up]. 2) Enter 4-digit access code with the Number buttons. If you have not set up your personal access code, enter 0000 (default access code).

Turn the set on, hook the cable directly to the TV, take the remote control and press 1 - 1 and if the TV tunes in channel 11 then your set is fine. If the TV was autoprogrammed when hooked to a cable box then the only channels that will be stored in memory are 3, maybe 4 and AUX. To correct this simply go back into the menu and look for the "autoprogram" option and perform the autoprogram while the cable is directly connected to the TV, without a cable box.
