Cannot get the bobbin thread to come up with the top thread

Hi there, Im trying to thread my Singer sewing machine. Ive followed all the instructions correctly for threading the machine and bobbin, but for some reason the bobbin thread will not come up with the needle thread when I lower the needle down. Im just learning to sew and I can't get any better if I cant get my machine working. Please help! Thank you.

1. Make sure the needle is up in the machine all the way.
2. Make sure the flat side of the needle is facing the rear of the machine
3. Only turn the handwheel on the side of the machine towards you, never away from you.
4.Double check your threading of the top of the machine.
5. Also make sure your using the proper needle, your machine takes the most common needle on the market but some look like it and are shorter or longer and wont work properly. Also make sure your not buying needles for a singer serger.

I am not sure about this particular machine but in most machines there will be a nob on the front loose low numbers like 0 1 -2 work well on number 3. If the nob is not on the front check and see if it is on the side.

I am having trouble getting the bobbin to function properly during sewing.

It could be the top thread is the problem. Might try removing all the thread. Consult the owner's manual for threading instructions. RAISE the presser foot BEFORE threading the upper thread so the thread will seat properly in the tension disk. Re-thread from the beginning carefully following the instructions--do not miss any spots or thread guides.

If top thread is still creating a mess of loops under the fabric, try tightening the upper tension. The tension is ideal when both upper and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

"Birdnesting" occurs when there is no tension on the needle thread to pull the bobbin thread. This is easily corrected by rethreading the machine, following the threading path carefully and making sure the thread is fully engaged in the tension mechanism.
