I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24 - however, I'm sure we can help you get it working again. If the machine isn't picking up as well as usual, there may be a blockage in the machine, and the filters may need a wash.

The easiest way to find and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

In normal use, the filters need to be washed at least once a month, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for the filters to dry completely before replacing them.

My daughter cleaned up the babys ***** with vacum now it smells lie throwup everytime we use vacum.we cleaned the hoses still smells .I thinits in the motor .can i clean the motorany suggestions before i...


SInce the damage is done we cannot but think of a solution. It seems the internal filters , the hose and possible the linings within can be slightly clogged.
The only option left to us is to get the above sections cleaned, the filter replaced, the motor flushed with a wash of kerosene-- you must remove the motor and carefully wash and dry all the parts, the hose and replace the filters.
I am sure you can use surgical gloves and mask in case the odour is annoying but it is worth trying before you need to dump a good machine.

what kind of vacum is it,the bag may be full and there may be a blockage in the hose or the filters need replaced or cleaned?

Vacum cleaner flashes lights and goes dead.


Do you put it down before you turn it on? some vacs wont turn on in the upright position. Happened to me once til I stepped on the button to bed it back then powered right up.

Shuts down after 10 min use


I would clean or replace filters on it check the hose to make sure it is not blocked . It sound like it is over heating and making the breaker kick off and after it cools down it resets this is caused by dirty filters or blocked hoses.

The Hoover Windtunnel vacum will not pull suction


Either the machine or hose is blocked OR the filters are blocked.
Also possible that the belt is broken.
