Re: PS3 access problems to media server on wrt350n

I believe a simple solution to this beings with assigning a static IP address to the PS3

IF your router is and
your subnet mask is

and your DHCP range is for
50 licenses to 192.168.149

The address your PS3 between and

Configure you PS3
IP address192.168.1.3
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway
DNS Address
(for the above DNS address to work you must have loaded the ISP assigned IP addresses into the router which you probably have alrready done.

Let me know if this does not work. I will respond to messages here until we resolve the issue.

Then on you router your DMZ address should be set to (your PS3's IP Address)

Ps3 crashes online

The PlayStation Network services may not get a full reboot until May 31st. It may even happen sooner, or later than that date.

If your PS3 continues to have this problem, try connecting the PS3 directly to your Modem using the Network Port, essentially bypassing any router/switch/hub you may have. If the problem persists, your PS3 may have corrupt files and need File System repair.

How to Access Playstation Recovery Menu

1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

The current Recovery Menu supports:
  1. Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
  2. Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.
  3. Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
  4. Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.
  5. Restore PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
  6. System Update: Update the PS3 System

I have an error code of 80710D36 appearing on screen when i try to go on-line on my ps3 , please help .

Error code of 80710D36 is a problem on the Sony server end not usually on your end. It can be a server is down or overloaded. Try another game or application and see if it works. Some times it could be that you may have to change your password.
" According to the PS3 website, go to click on the sign in. Sign into the playstation network using your email address and password. It will then say that it's sending you an email on further instructions to change your password. Then check your email and click on the link provided within 24 hours (otherwise link will expire). The link will prompt you to put in a new password then your done. After this is done, then go sign in on your playstation and input the new password. Hopefully that will work."
"When the code pops up go back and hit confirm again and the it will go through"
Hope this helps,Thanks for using FixYa

My nat type on my Playstation 3 is nat type 3 (strict). I would like to know what setting configuration on my WRT54GX router so that the nat type decreases.

Well this becuse of NAT on the router

you can solve the problem by putting your PS3's IP address on DMZ in the router

access your router page (type in the address bar of internet explorer)

username would be admin and password would also be admin

go to the DMZ and enter the IP address of the PS3 there after enabling it....restart your your problem solved

Note:- you can check your PS3 IP address in the network settings and connections option on PS3

Hope it helps

Are you talking about accessing files such as movies, mp3s, and photos?

If so, I managed to get it working... and it has more to do with Windows Media Player. Make sure you have the most recent (I think were up to Windows Media Player 11 now). If you search file sharing with that, you'll be able to view photos, listen to music, and watch videos that are on your PC on your PS3.

I wish I could give more specifics, but it was a little while ago that I completed the task. If you still can't get it, I'll see about re-doing what I did.
