Question about ZENITH/BATHWARE 2114S CHR Wire Corn Tub Caddy

1 Answer

My shower pole caddy is either too tall using the tension spring or too short without. How do I make the adjustment. The pole sits on the tub.

I had the same problem. The only solution is to cut the shorter rod to the desired size. After I cut it, it fits perfectly over the bathtub. Hope this helps!

What did you use to cut the rod?

  • MuruGun Feb 28, 2011

I used a metal hand saw from Wal-mart. Depending on how thick the metal is, you will need to get the appropriate size. If you don't want the trouble, you could take the rods to Home Depot - they will cut it for you for a small fee.

I already said this - a standard metal hand saw from Wal-mart. You can also get it at any hardware store like Home Depot.

Most tension rod caddies assemble in basically the same way, so while I don't find instructions for your model, these may be similar:

You may need to twist the pole to unlock the spring,or there is a spacer missing inside the pole

At what height is the shower rough in body installed

I set my valve were it feels comfortable when i stand up in there tub or shower. Most people shower any way.. the one sitting in the tub can still reach it I usually set shower valves at 42 to 44 inches and the shower arm at 74-78. You want it I usually rough the tub and shower valve spout at 4" above the tub rim, shower valve 10" above the spout. This is for tub and shower combo.

Can''t get tension rod to have tension to make it fit in shower/bathtub area

There are basically two types that I have seen one is spring loaded (this has limited travel and once the spring has fully expanded that's it, the other is a two part rod that you take either side of the split and turn in opposite directions this loosens the rod so you can move it out. You hold the rod so both ends are touching either side and twist each section in opposite direction this tightens the ends against the wall the more you twist the tighter it gets. I hope this helps. Good Luck and have a great day. Jeff

Cant ajust tensioner pully

You have a (spring loaded) tensioner. I usually use a rachet and whatever size socket the bolt requires and use a 2 foot hollow pole as a pull handle.. Put the socket and rachet on the bolt, slip the pole over the handle of the rachet and push the tensioner back which will give you the slack room you need to install the belt. Make sure you have the belt around all the other pulley's so it will be a easier to slip it on to your tensioner. This tensioner should adjust itself by spring action.

Adjustable (tension) shower curtain rod too long

Yes you can ! You only have to pull off the rubber end cap and cut it , file off ant burrs. Cut the SMALLER diameter end only, the other end contains the spring !

How do I put together the pole caddy (4 shelf) with spring? did not come with instructions.

Put the poles together eith the spring section on the top. Otherwise, the weight of what you put on it will pull it down.
