Are you talking about the Condenser Fan at the back of the fridge next to Motor/Compressor.
If that is running slow it means the fan motor bearings and lubricant inside the fan motor has turned into a sludge which is a common problem. Need to replace the condenser fan motor. You can put a normal household fan behind the fridge to cool the compressor in the meantime. Ash
When a refrigerator door is left open the freezer will continue to run to keep it cold and since it can't cool an open area it will freeze up on the inside, to resolve this you will need to unplug the fridge and open the freezer door and allow the freezer to thaw completely, once it is thawed you can plug it back in and everything should go back to normal after a 24 hour period
Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong.

Needs to be completely thawed for 2 days. Or wlse the circulator fan under the freezer panel inside freezer is not working. Take the plastic bottom of freezer out and let thaw. Then plug in fridge and check if the fan is running inside there. Do not poke around inside there or fridge will be punctured and ruined.
If you are not very familiar with the sound of a running compressor, the condenser fan may fool you into thinking that it is the compressor running. If you know how to troubleshoot, check the status of the compressor. If it is not running, check the starting relay and the capacitor. You may have to replace one or both of them.
The problem isn't with the ac , it's with the blower fan - apparently it only works on the lowest speed. Check the fan button and the wiring from it to the fan.
did you unplug it for about 8 hours to make sure that it is completely defrosted? These new side by sides use cold air to cool them unlike the good old freon tubes running aroung the inside like the fridge your grandmother had for 50 years. They freeze up easy and take for ever to thaw out. check the seal around the bottom of the door to make sure it is not broken or hanging loose.
reason is that the evaporator is blocked with ice and hence no air circulation.
either
switch off for 24 hours with doors open
or
remove back panel inside freezer and melt ice off with a hairdryer
