Itunes blocked my iPhone 3G, 16g

Need help. I recently purchased an iPhone (did not know it was stolen) from someone who was selling it. It was working fine with my sim card. I tried to update it and iTunes blocked it. iTunes says: Only Compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone...etc. Please someone help.

SOURCE: Iphone 3g 8gb Officially unlocked sim error problem

the new sim card is connected with having an iphone account. when you say it is officially unlocked.
does this mean that AT&T unlocked your phone?
what i think your saying is that if you have 2 sim cards, one that is in use and the other is a spare you cannot use both. at the same time.
the sims are standalone, to use a spare sim it has to be activated by the carrier, thus disabling your original sim.
when you change sims you will need to reboot the phone that will not change.

I recently had the same problem...have you turned the phone off, all the way off where you have to slide to power off, and then restarted it? I thought mine was not charging but it actually was when I powered it back up.

Iphone stolen hoe can i find its exact lacation using the iphone number. dont know if any app are active to help but there is a way to do it online free!! If you can help asap THANK YOU!

The phone companies make money when your phone is stolen, as they know you are going to purchase a new one. Therefore there is no incentive for them to attempt to find or recover your phone. If you had insurance on the phone, use it. If not, take the box with you and register it with the police as stolen so if they ever come across it or someone tries to pawn it they will be notified and you may get your phone back, otherwise, it is time to console yourself and consider it gone. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

Some Stories:

Less than a week after getting my wife an iPhone 3G, it was stolen. Here's what I've learned. Neither AT&T nor Apple care that your phone was stolen. AT&T will not black list the IMEI or SIM, meaning that whoever stole the phone can go right down to AT&T and get the phone switched over to their account with ZERO questions asked.

Apple will not black list the serial number and will allow it to be registered with iTunes, just by plugging it into the computer.

Even if you deactivate your phone service, the iPhone (either model) basically becomes a fully functional iPod Touch.

In case of a problem or clarification or my solution was insufficient, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

My Friend gave me his old 8gbt Iphone because he upgraded 2 the 16g but he dont remember the PW 4 digit code . How can i Fix it??it is a apple iphone

iPhone passwords are in place to prevent stolen iPhones from being accessed. So seeing requests like this on the internet does raise suspicions as to whether or not the phone was stolen, but if it ~wasn't~ stolen then there are a few solutions:
--- If your friend still has the computer to which this iPhone was originally connected, then you can do a system restore on the phone and resync it with his account. This will most likely result in a loss of all stored pictures and data. Here is a step by step guide for how to do this:
--- If your friend never sync'ed the phone with iTunes (pretty unlikely) or does not have his computer available, then you can go with him to an ATT or Apple store and ask for help there. You will need him as proof that the phone is changing hands. Whether or not files are lost may depend on their tech savviness.
--- If restoring doesn't work, if your friend isn't nearby, if there's no ATT or Apple store nearby, or if it's too much trouble to coordinate going there, then you're entering hack-zone, which is for what iPhone thieves are looking. This involves looking around for iPhone jailbreak software options and the like. I won't help with that; don't steal. If you didn't steal then good luck!

I bought a apple iphone 3g 8gb from a car boot everything works but it has been blocked

Sounds like it might be stolen and locked by the original owner's MobileMe account. Try restoring with iTunes is that doesn't work, call your carrier.

My iphone has been locked by itunes, telling me to insert a valid sim what do i do?

Try to Uninstall iTunes from you r pc. Then run DISC CLEANUP (from Start -> All Programms -> Accessories -> System Tools). check if you have still the iTunes.exe on your desktop or in any folders. If yes - delete. Then go to iTunes website and download fresh copy of the soft. Install it. Run it. If the problem persist, you might have been purchased a stolen iPhone that had been Jailbrooken :) In this case - try to :re-jailbreak it and unlock it. Just follow the symple steps on :) Hope this solves the issue

IPhone 3G Error 0xE8000001

Where did you purchase your phone? however, you first need to update itunes to 8.0.2, that might solve your problem. Unless you have an unlocked phone then restoring your phone is useless because when you restore an iphone with itunes in the US without an att sim card it will actually lock the phone, but I do not think that is your issue. the two things you are seeing the connect to itunes and the emergency call system means that your phone is not properly activated. which is done by connecting it to itunes.
