On the upper right of the linked page you'll see a VGA connector in blue. Scrolling down a little, under the subheading - Cable quality - you'll see an example of a VGA cable.

Message on monitor says " no analog signal".

If you are getting no post display on boot up (dell spash screen, and windows loading screen):

First step is to plug a different monitor into the computer. If this works you most likely have a bad monitor. If not then it is a hardware issue with the video card on the computer.

If you getting the post screen then you may have your resolution set to high, boot in safe mode (F8 on the key board right after the post screen) and chose safe mode. once windows comes up, right click the back ground and chose a lower resolution setting.

Hope this helps

Lg crt monitor no dsplay

Video card may be done or monitor is. Connect another monitor to computer and power up computer to see if it works. If so, monitor is done. Did monitor give a no signal message when it's on and computer isn't? If it did and now won't monitor probably bad. If no monitor will work on your computer, either computer is fried somehow or video card failed. Make sure your computer is booting correctly and not stopping after the POST before Windows starts. See that it's booting up and accessing hard drive but making no picture. If so, new video card or monitor. Start by connecting another monitor to your computer.

My computer turns on but my monitor screen stays blank my key board lights dont come onim wondering if this is my harddrive because it doesnt make any noise when i turn it on

Hi,
Its highly unlikely that its the hard drive as a computer will still show a post or splash screen without a hard drive being installed.
Is the computer making any beeping sounds?

Im trying to install agp...how do i disable the on board vga

Hi there.
Remember that if you are swapping from on-board graphics to a card you have to go into the BIOS and tell the machine that the primary graphics adapter is AGP/PCI Express.
Plug the VGA cable into the on-board graphics port, start the computer and enter the BIOS, tell the computer to use the AGP/PCI card as primary, press F10, save the changes and exit the bios.
The computer will try and restart so let it boot to post and turn it off, then put in your card and try to boot again.
Please post back if you need more help or advice.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Hi, Sounds like video card problem. Try removing, cleaning the gold contacts and re-installing to the slot. If your PC uses an on-board video that shares with the memory, then you have to remove your memory and clean the gold contacts then re-insert back and try again. If cleaning, re-inserting/re-seating does not solve the problem, then perhaps replacement is required. Hope this be of some help/idea. post back how things turned up or should you need further information. good luck and kind regards.
