Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Format your hardrive for Mac OS:

SOURCE: Problems adding files onto the hardrive

This sounds as though the Iomega has got locked somehow.
Do a get info on its desktop icon and have a look at the lock checkbox. Also look at the write permissions while you are there.

SOURCE: cannot copy files to Iomega 500 GB external hard drive.

It depends on how you formatted the the drive.
If it was formatted FAT it will work on both Mac and PC.
If you formatted to HFS+ (the native mac format) then it will only work on a mac.

Deleting Folders in Outlook

Delete a folder
  1. On the Go menu, click Folder List.
  2. In the Folder List, in the Navigation Pane, right-click the folder you want to delete.
  3. On the shortcut menu, click Delete folder name.
Notes
  • The default Personal Folders file (.pst), which is set as the default folder for receiving new messages, cannot be deleted. If you have duplicate Personal Folders, you can remove the duplicate folders from the Folder List. Removing the duplicate folder doesn't delete the data file, which remains on your computer's hard disk.
  • When you delete a Search Folder, only the folder is deleted. Search Folders are virtual folders that contain views of all Items meeting certain search criteria. The items shown in the deleted Search Folder remain in their original folders.

I want to delete all files on my iomega LPHD160-C hard drive....how is this done please? Attached to a Imac if this makes any difference.

To totally reformat the hard drive which will delete everything off it go to your applications folder and then to the utilities folder and double-click on disk utility. In the left hand column select your drive then select the erase button once on the erase section select the format you want to format the drive in (if you are only going to use it on a mac select Mac OS Extended, if it is going to be used on both mac and PCs select MS-DOS (FAT)) then choose the name you want to call your drive and then select erase.

REMEMBER THIS WILL WIPE ALL THE FILES ON YOUR HARD DRIVE.

Hope this helps.

Complete user manual as said to be available in document with product SPHDU2 I need more detail than "drad and drop copies of your critical files onto the drive" I am computer iliterate

Open "My Documents".
Hold the CTRL key down, and click the mouse on the first file/folder that you want to copy.
While holding the CTRL key down, click the mouse on the next file/folder that you want to copy.
While holding the CTRL key down, keep clicking to "add" more files/folders to your "selected" objects.

Release the CTRL key.
Click with the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button on one of the selected files/folders.
Point at "Send To".
Click on the icon for your your IOMEGA device.
The selected files/folders will be copied.

When the 'copy' completes, do _NOT_ delete your original files.
Instead, keep those original files in your 'My Documents' folder,
and keep the copy on the IOMEGA. That way, if your C: disk-drive fails,
or if the IOMEGA fails, then you still have _ONE_ copy of your files.

Does it show up in your "my computer" You should be able to drag any file into it or just make new folders and then drag files into. Let me know if it still won't work.

I accidentally deleted the system reference of my mcbook pro.....

Thanks for contacting Fixya Support I will be glad to assist you.

The best recommendation for restoring your System Preferences file if that is what I see you accidentally deleted, would be to use a utility software called Pacifist for Mac (http://www.charlessoft.com/) which allows you to reinstall one application from the Mac OS X install DVD or CD, instead of the contents of the entire disc.

Try this software and see if this works for you restoring System Preferences back onto your Macbbook Pro. If you find this process does not help, please feel free to reply back to this post.

A unknown folder

If you're in Windows, you can just delete the files manually from the USB drive. Just make sure you checked 'Show hidden files' in 'Folder Options' so you can see them. However, that can get annoying fast. So, I recommend you download USBDriveFresher (it's free, no spyware, no viruses, no adware). It can automatically or manually delete those files as soon as you plug-in your USBdrive. You can adjust the settings as you wish, but it's already set to get rid of the MAC junk that you mentioned. See below for more information.

If you're in MacOSX, well, I'm not an expert yet for Macs. However, I believe you can download freeware programs for the Mac to view these files and then delete them. Perhaps Curb 1.0? Never tried it. But it's free and contains no spyware, etc. as guaranteed by Softpedia.com. Shouldn't hurt to try it.
