2007 saturn outlook code U2100

Do you know what a serial data network is ? U codes are problems associated the data buss . A module isn't communicating or the buss wiring is shorted etc.....
Data Link Communications Description and Operation

Do you know what an how many modules are on your vehicle ?

The communication among control modules is performed primarily through the GMLAN high speed serial data circuit and the GMLAN low speed serial data circuits. The modules that need real time communication are attached to the high speed GMLAN network. The body control module (BCM) is the serial data gateway between the networks. The purpose of the gateway is to translate serial data messages between the GMLAN high speed buss and the GMLAN low speed buss. The controller area network (CAN) is another serial data communication network used on this vehicle which is dedicated to the electronic brake control module (EBCM) subsystem for stabilization. Below are more detailed descriptions of the individual networks. The gateway will interact with each network according to that network's transmission protocol. Refer to Body Control System Description and Operation for more information about the gateway.

Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .

DTC U2100 00: Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus Communication
The GMLAN serial data circuits are controller area network (CAN) serial data buses used to communicate information between the control modules. Typical data transmission speeds must be high enough to ensure that a required real-time response is maintained. On this vehicle there are 2 totally different types of GMLAN serial data circuits, the high speed 2-wire circuit and low speed single wire circuit. Refer to Data Link Communications Description and Operation for the complete description of these buses. The GMLAN serial data circuits also communicate directly to the DLC connector. Messages are interpreted by the externally connected CANdi module which acts as a transceiver for the scan tool.
Modules connected to the GMLAN serial data circuits monitor communications during normal vehicle operation, where operation information is exchanged among the modules. All the modules on the GMLAN networks, maintain a transmit error counter (TEC) and a receive error counter (REC). The counter values increase with detected errors and will decrease with error-free messages. If the TEC value exceeds 255, the controller removes itself from the network and DTC U2100 will result.

What do I do when I put a new pcm on my 2000 dodge trk and it started up then killed it and tried to crsnk it the asd bussed and knw all my gauges quit and says now no buss

"NO BUS" means that the communication system between the computers has stopped working ! The gauges info come's from the PCM - engine computer over the bus , serial data communication network . VSS - vehicle speed sensor , ECT - engine coolant temp sensor , oil pressure sender etc.. are inputs to the engine computer . When replacing computers , most of the time they need flash programming . Dealer only in most cases . With a J2534 programming tool . Real World Reflashing with Dave Hobbs

I have 08 ford escape when I try to scan it said no communication

Do you know about communication networks or serial data communications on vehicles , these let the scan tool communicate with the different modules on the vehicle ! Newer vehicles have several, PCM - powertrain control module , Anti-theft module , Air bags , antilock brakes , Body control module or in the case of ford a smart junction box . an some others !
Communications Network Vehicle communication utilizes both International Standards Organization (ISO) 9141 and controller area network (CAN) communications. ISO 9141 is used for diagnostic use only, and CAN is used for many modules to communicate with each other on a common network. CAN in-vehicle networking, is a method for transferring data among distributed electronic modules via a serial data bus. Without serial networking, intermodule communication requires dedicated, point to point wiring resulting in bulky, expensive, complex, and difficult to install wiring harnesses. Applying a serial data network reduces the number of wires combining the signals on a single network. Information is sent to the individual control modules that control each function.
The vehicle has 3 module communication networks:
  • ISO 9141
  • Medium speed (MS) CAN
  • High speed (HS) CAN
All 3 networks are connected to the data link connector (DLC). This makes diagnosis and testing of these systems easier by allowing one scan tool to be able to diagnose and control any module on the 3 networks from one connector. The DLC can be found under the instrument panel between the steering column and the audio unit.
HS-CAN Network Operation
The HS-CAN network communicates using bussed messages. The HS-CAN network uses an unshielded twisted pair cable, data bus (+) and data bus (-) circuits. In addition to scan tool communication, this network allows sharing of information between all modules on the network.
The HS-CAN is a high speed communication network used for the following modules:
  • ABS module
  • 4WD control module (if equipped)
  • Instrument cluster
  • PCM
  • MS-CAN Network Operation
The MS-CAN network communicates using bussed messages. The MS-CAN has an unshielded twisted pair cable, data bus (+) and data bus (-) circuits. In addition to scan tool communication, this network allows sharing of information between all modules on the network.
The MS-CAN is a medium speed communication network used for the following modules:
    • Instrument cluster
    • SJB
    HS-CAN Network
  • What type of scan tool are you using ? or are you using a code reader ?

I have 2 pcs of RAM, 512MB and 1GB. then my pc has 4 slot. Can I install both 1GB and 512MB?

yes you can install it but issue is that . Is your computer supports the both bus peed first check the bus speed for checking bus speed you can see a steker on ram on that print will start form like

512. 400. its it speed is 512mb and buss speed is 400
if your 1gb ram is also 400 bus speed its mean it will run your computer smoothly.
if buss speed is change so you will face trouble. so please confirm the bus speed first thanks

My current data bus speed is 400Mhz I want to upgrade my memory, Can memory of speed 533Mhz work. What changes will I have to make?

It May work but the bus speed is going to stay the same if it is max clcoked at 400 MHZ thats it no faster unless your computer can be jumpered to a higher speed but most you are limited by the clcok speed of the buss.
