Remove the camera software Then plug the camera in, and if it is a 2000 or XP Windows Scanner/Camera Wizard should sort it. The software supplied with camera are most ties more trouble than a help My advise is always leave the disk in the box and let Windoze do the work

These cameras are on the list of the ccd problems.
Here is a link to the site you may need. Canon will repair it for free if it is the ccd problem. Note that they will pay for shipping both ways as well if it is the ccd problem. Call them on the toll free number.
