The cable is a male-to-male PS/2 cable, of the same plug design as those used on keyboards and mice.

They can be bought as is, or if it is easier/cheaper to buy a KVM cable (with a PS/2 mouse and keyboard cable), the KVM cable can be used in a pinch. It just looks a little clunkier as it also has a VGA cable.

my 1994 had the same problem, where the TPS sensor connects there is a small rod that moves you should be able to see it without taking anything apart it wsa rusty and sticking so i sprayed it with wd-40 a couple of times and that solved the problem for me,don't know it that will help but maybe it's worth a try. or maybe your throtle cable to the gas pedal has worn a grove inside the cable and you can't see this problem, but atleast have it checked to see if it's sticking.

How do you replace the throtle cable on a 97 sportster 1200

first you need to take apart the throttle thats is done by 2 screws under the throttle the cable will be cloped in to a slide that rotates to pull the cabel. after that fallow the bable to the engin it will clip in on a nother slide that is on the intake manifold that controls the throttle there might be a screw or two holding it, you may have to remove some things to get to it

Windstar garbage

Did you try starting the van while giving it half (or more) throtle? sometimes, but not usually, after removing a battery a vehicle's computer needs to "re-learn" some of its programing. the vehicle won't start or idle without some throtle. taking the vehicle for a drive if you can get it started will get the computer working properly agian if that is the problem.
