Question about Polar CS200cad Cycling Computers

Isn't receiving/showing my heart rate

My polar wearlink 31 coded transmitter/receiver doesn't tell me my heart rate, nor does the little heart icon flash, like it usually does. Everything else is working well
Does anybody know what the problem may be?

Hi there,

First thought is the battery in the wearlink is dead if you're getting no icons or lights flashing. Luckily the wearlink is designed to have the user change the battery. Ideally your local Polar outlet will sell battery kits (app €12), these come with a new battery, seal and door and take a minute to change. Here in the shop we routinely offer to change it 'cos customers can be a bit wary of taking it apart, but it's easy.
If the shop doesn't stock them they should be able to order it for you..

If you visit www.polarusa.com they have guidelines and life expectancies, it is also in your owners manual.

The HR reading can be caused by several issues some environmental some within the watch or strap, please visit my tips and tricks page for a detailed listing as well as if you need a new owners manual.

On the straps for an F11 those have a user replaceable battery, your battery may be the thing that is wearing out, not the whole strap. Try a new battery in the strap (wearlink connector) before buying an entire new strap.

The gels work by providing greater conductivity, yes they work, but you may or may not need it. depends on why you are having a signal issue.

I need to replace the belt. We can I find a reasonably priced belt.

Do a simple google search, you should come up with several sources.

There are 2-types of T-31 belts.

1) T-31 elastic strap for the hard rubber model

2) T-31 wearlink band for the soft strap model the band snaps to a small center piece)

Make sure you are looking for the right one.

I have a Polar F11 Heart Rate Monitor. The watch won't pick up the heart rate from the sender (00 is displayed), but my heart rate shows on a Polar enabled Gym machine, e.g. xtrainer. I've changed the...

There is a step by step guide in my tips and tricks of things to try with your strap. If none of these work and you are getting a signal from another source then you need to get either a new strap, a new sender or both. If you send the T-31 wearlink into polar they can run a diagnostic and see which is bad and sell you just the piece you need or a whole new chest piece.

How do i reset and work my polar t31? I have lost instructions and it is 2 years since I last used it

There is no reset on the T-31 chest straps and transmitters. If the battery is functioning then you simply put it around your chest (make sure the contacts are wet) and turn on the watch. A heart rate signal should appear automatically.

If this doesn't work, I have solutions in my tips and tricks page as well as Manuals for Polar products. The T-31 battery may also be dead, in which case you will need to replace.

The picture you have showing is for a S-Series Speed sensor for the Bike. If this is something you are having a problem with feel free to send me a note related to the problem.

Heart rate writst watch won't work

Hi,
Here is the manual for your heart rate monitor:
http://www.omronhealthcare.com/img/shop/hr-100c---2003-hr100cinst-rev-a.pdf
The size of your wrist shouldn't matter, because you can actually mount the monitor to a bike handle, so you don't have to be wearing it at all. It's just acting as a receiver, displaying the info. Are you wearing the transmitter belt, is it positioned correctly, and tight enough? Are you putting water or gel on the backside of the transmitter so that you get good conduction and contact? Is the transmitter belt within 20 inches of the monitor receiver display?
The transmitter battery might be low. If so, the symptom would be that your readings can be erratic. I know you said that you just bought it, but batteries can be low in new products. ..How many times have you bought a new digital watch only to find that it had a low battery...You can replace the battery in the transmitter with a lithium 3v battery #CR2032. Do you see a low battery indicator? If so, the display (receiver) battery also needs replacing and it uses the same battery as the transmitter.
Hope it helps, please let me know.
Thanks
