Question about RTO 50cc Classic Style Gas Motor Scooter with High quality and Free Parts Warra

1 Answer

My 50cc scooter had problems starting this summer after I hit the kill switch. Then battery ran down with me trying to start it. Shop fixed it-said it was carborator, but the next day made similar ''I don't want to turn over'' sound, but has been okay more or less until now.l hit the kill switch again by accident, and couldn't get it to start. waited hours, but nothing. Battery was weaning down-tried to jump it, but nothing is working. Help?? Oh, and is it normal for it to take hours to start after hitting kill switch?

No it's not normal. According to your description, you may have a grounding kill switch. It's not common, but may be so. Disconnect the switch completely (underneath the plastics) and see if this helps, our replace it. It may be something else, just perceived as a coincidental switch problem

What is the main cause of un passing electric to start

Hi, Bijualexander and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

Scooter not starting

Hi, Anonymous for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. Scooter wont start

The ignition timing may have been disturbed,or if it is equipped with a carburettor, the mixture setting may have been disturbed,or the carb.jet may be blocked by dirt in the fuel or the spark plug may be faulty .get all these checked first .

Cant get my 50cc scooter to fire up-no spark. any

  • Do you see spark? If not, check the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. If broken or out of adjustment, it would kill the spark. Check for a broken wire at the side stand switch and coupler. Try moving the side stand kill switch by hand. If that doesn’t work then wire a jumper around the switch to bypass it.
  • Is the handlebar kill switch on? Is it shorted out?
  • Check the fuses.
  • Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter. Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? Any abraded or pinched wires?
  • Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center or side casing.
  • If still no spark, get CDI system and coils checked at the dealers shop.

Even though I am unfamiliar with your bike I will give this a try on the condition that You give me a "Helpful" rating or better. Like you, I am unable to comprehend pigeon English.

A spark plug can go bad at any time. Get a new plug. Put the wire on the plug then ground the metal side of the plug against the cylinder head as you press the starter button. Look for the spark. If no spark, check the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. If broken or out of adjustment, it would kill the spark. Check for a broken wire at the side stand switch and coupler. Try moving the kill switch by hand. If that doesn’t work then wire a jumper around the switch to bypass it. Check the fuses. How good is the battery? Is the handlebar kill switch on? Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter.

Starter, starter switch and kill switch not working

when he jumped it with the charger he probably fan too much curent through the system witch made a relay stick so when you hit the start button it dosnt shut off the kill switch probably went bad because of it also trace the wires from the start button and find the relay that they go to and check it with a multimeeter how they work is it uses a little amount of curent to controle a big amount
