Fisher & Paykel washing machine with digital programe display

I have a Fisher & Paykel washing machine with a digital display program panel. None of the automatic program cycles are working when selected. The cycle starts but then stops for a long period of time. Then I have to manually press each stage of the cycle to the end - up to 45 minutes! Have tried turning the machine off, unplugging and plugging in again with no success. I am desperate as I have better things to do with my time than stand by a washing machine for 45 minutes.
