You can go to ASUS and find the pin out for your unit.
Or you will have to look hard at the board and find a open set of contact pin for a lid switch.

Chassis intruder, fatal error system halt on asus p5pe-vm.how can i fix it

Hello, you can download a manual here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5PEVM/#download

Please select your windows version.
Select manual and click on global for download.
Unzip the file before installation.

And remove the cable on the mainboard for the contact on the chassis.
When that is done enter the bios and set the setting for the chassis intruder to off
Read about that in the manual.
The chassis intruder is used by admins to see if the case have been opened
when the case is opened the bios will block the system from booting until the setting in the bios
is set back to normal.

(1)cpu fan error (2)chassis intruded (3)fatal error.....system halted

The reason for this error is Overheat! Please replace the CPU Fan with a new one and add additional Fan for the CPU Cabinet in order to cool the CPU. Then, reset the BIOS to default value by pressing the F2 Key or Delete Key at the Startup and select Load Optmized Defaults or Load Fail Safe Defaults option. This should resolve the issue.

Some computer display this message when the case has been opened. After installing components in your computer and closing the case/cover then go into the BIOS setting and reset the chassis intruder detector.

How to fix chassis intruded ..fatal error..system halted...is it my cpu become damage?

It is unlikely that your CPU is damaged

You need to enter the BIOS and turn off chassis intrusion.

It is an option in the bios that is only useful if you have the switch on the computer case that supports it otherwise it will give you the error you see if enabled

What is chassis intruder

Chasis intruder is a warning that your CPU has been opened by someone
it is normally used to warn you against unautorized BIOS or SYSTEM PASSWORD removal
There is a switch in your casing that detects this.

Leave this setting to enabled (recomemded)

Thanx and i hope this info is helpfull

Chassis intrusion

You need to check the chassis intrusion pin setting located on the motherboard. See page 1-30 (Number 11) in your manual.
You need to add a jumper as shown.
The system should no longer halt.

Cheers!

Chassis itruded problem

1. Try clearing the bios manually by shorting the jumpers (i think u what i mean).
2. Try recovery of the bios memory (if it supports)
3. Try reflashing the bios (get the latest bios updates from net)
4. disconnect the intrusion alarm device/switch
5. press F1 and continue to windows -> use the board vendor supplied tools to access the intrusion alarm log and clear it

:)

bye

have a nice day

CHASSIS INTRUDED

You BIOS settings have been reset and you need to set it up again. Chassis intrusion needs to be turned off. You can download the user setup manual here: http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5S800-VM/e2419_p5s800-vm.pdf BIOS setup is in Chapter 2. There are alot of settings and it goes into detail on how to set them. This is truly an Awesome motherboard! I wish mine was like this. Follow the setup carefully and you can't go wrong.
