I am looking for IBM Aptiva 2142-SQ1 diagram info. Namely the Audio Amplifier connector (J4) pin-out on the motherboard. I want to use this amplifier for my current desktop.

I did not want tech assistance, just information if you happened to have the required documentation to show which pins on J4 of the motherboard (IBM Aptiva 2142-SQ1) carry what signal.
I did not realise your website assistance required payment.
Thanks but no thanks please don't keep sending messages regarding joining or things like that.

    Regards,

Depends on your motherboard...If you know the particular manufacturer/model go to their site and download the manual, if not, go to:
http://www.astra32.com/download.htm
and get either the self-extracting .exe or the version you can put on a flash/floppy drive. Run the proggie on your machine, make a note of your motherboard specs, and again, go to the manufacturers' site for a manual.

Hi

Pin arrangement for Front panel Audio is usually:

Pin 1 Left MIC-IN Pin 1 right GROUND
Pin 2 Left MIC VVC (or MIC Power, or MIC BIAS) Pin 2 Right empty
Pin 3 Left R EAR (or R OUT) Pin 3 Right R RETURN
Pin 4 Ground or Empty Pin 4 Right empty
Pin 5 Left L EAR (or L OUT) Pin 5 Right L RETURN

This arrangement should apply to both the HD AA/FP or the Standard AC'97 Headers.

    "the system intruded chassis opnened

The NRL_LS has a connector for a microswitch on the case, to detect if the case is opened.
Look for jumper J2, between the battery and the bios chip, at one end of a long connector CON1.
There should be 2 adjacent bare pins at one end of J2.
Place a jumper block on them, and the system should start normally.

    The manual is here +NRL-LS Cover.P65 - ftp.asus.com.tw

Look at item 9 on page 2-22, referring to jumper J2

You need to remove the two jumpers from the pins, this is where you connect the front panel audio connector, if your case has each wire separate. then please look at this webpage http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-015851.htm look at the part "For AC97 Front Panel Audio" PIN 1 should read MIC. If not, then scroll down, you are reading the wrong part of the page.

Front panel 9-pin audio connection is located at "A" on the diagram. There will probably be two jumpers there - remove them and plug in the audio connector It can only fit one way.170eb7d.jpg

AOpen AX4BS motherboard front panel connections & power on.

That model motherboard does not support on/off control of the power supply. Refer to the output diagram on the power supply, and there should be pins in the connector (not used on your board) that may refer to the on/off control. Those pins should be tied together. Then the PC will turn on via the main power switch, and will require a manual turn off when the display says its ok.

    Need help with connections

There's at least one connector that matches the one coming from the CD drive - analog (3 or 4 pins) or digital (an integrated connector). If you have the book for your motherboard, look in the pin diagram.

To fix front usb and audio to the mother board

Consult the user manual for the motherboard. It should have a layout diagram showing all connections. Or go online to manufacturer's website and download the user manual there. Also, using a bright light and magnifier you may be able to read the small print on the motherboard by the connectors.

    Internal DVD Drive

    Hi,
if you,ve purchased a SATA drive.
Then you should have SATA Connectors On The Motherboard.
If you look carefully you should see SATA1 And SATA2 if applicable. they,ll look like a small black/white piece of plastic connector. shaped similar to a letter *L* this is the sata connector, you may already have a hard-drive on 1 of them. ( red Cable ) The 4 pin audio cable, goes from the rear of your DVD Drive, you should have 2. 1 for analogue 1 for digital. this connects Audio from your Drive to motherboard, slim grey cable ( usually ) look towards the rear of your motherboard for this, usually towards the audio out ( if you have onboard soundcard )
connect this to Audio/sound ( you,ll probably have 3 located close together.
    Hope this helps.
    Mike @ Compurepair.
