Question about Computers & Internet

I am able to print email and other files, but when I want to print a saved pdf file, the message ''Unable to start print job. Is printer available?'' come up. I recently purchased and installed a new program called ''Driver Robot 1.0'' and since installing this program i was not able to print pdf files. I am sure that the printer is installed and is named as my default printer.

Driver Robot seems like it is most likely the issue. I've read review after review which says some really bad things about the software.
Many users report that they are now having issues with their PCs after installing Driver Robot.

I would uninstall Driver Robot and reinstall your printer. I suspect things will clear up after that.

Here are some of the reviews...

Use the following guidelines if you use the page description language (PDL) ability to mark resources as permanent. For technical details, see an appropriate PDL reference for PCL or PS.
    • Mark resources as permanent only when it is absolutely necessary that they remain in memory while the product is turned on.
    • Send permanent resources to the product only at the beginning of a print job and not while the product is printing.
NOTE: Overusing permanent resources or downloading them while the product is printing might affect product performance or the ability to print complex pages.

Cannot print full page from email. It starts half way down the page and does not get the full message

Instead of printing directly from within the email, you might try saving the email (either under "save" or "export" in the menu) as a PDF file and then printing from that file instead. Sometimes this fixes the issue.

When your want to save your file as .pdf extension, you have to select a "virtual printer" from your "Printers & Faxes" when you install the software you are using to save as pdf file.

If you select your physical printer install on your PC, the error message you mention will appear.

    Hope it helps.

I can't print pdf files from the internet, I have to "save as"1st

Sometimes the file name assigned to a pdf is not compatible with our printer's memory. For example, if the file name includes brackets [ ] or other punctuation, or is very long, the printer won't recognize it. One print job that stalls will hold up the entire print queue, so delete your job from the queue.
First, look at the file name displayed in the print server's list of print jobs. The same file name also appears in the top blue bar of your Acrobat pdf display. Are there brackets, per cent signs, or other punctuation marks in the file name?

Scan multiple pages to one file

    Hi Clint...

There are several programs available for downloading that work as print to pdf... some free some not. You can try pdf creator it's free and works well for me, the download isn't very long and the install is super easy.

after you install the program, you should see a pdf printer in your printer selections. You don't want to try to save your file, you have to select print and then select the pdf print to file option in your printer selection. Print the first file to a file you create to save it as a pdf. for the subsequent files you will need to choose Append to an existing pdf file and select the file you have created.

Test the file to see that both of your scans are in there and that they are in the order you want them to be in. If all that works find, you can follow the same procedure with each scanned page and they should all end up in one file.

the pdf print to file is also a great way to save webpages in one single file :)

    hope that helps!
