Question about Kenmore 25512/ 25513 Progressive Canister Vacuum
Drive belt has most likely broke and jammed inside the power head. Remove the bottom plate on the power head and replace the drive belt.

Turn the power brush over so the bottom faces up. On the bottom thereare two access screws. Remove the two screws and then the top cover canbe removed from the base. With the top cover off you can access the belt. You can get a replacement belt for your model here:

I replaced belt that was broken and went to put it back togehter and it starts to work and the light on the vacuum goes out and the suction stops...what could be the problem now?
