T.V shutting down

my tv will power up after a few seconds then I get a Red screen. after a few more seconds it shuts itself off. I put a new convergence board in the tv but it did not help. when it gave out it started with the smell of smoke and a thumping sound in the speakers. then while we were checking it out sparks came from one of the crt boards. appreciate any help as I am getting ready to scrap this tv. thanks
