Question about Toshiba 27A44 27" TV

1 Answer

Audio reception change

Change TV audio reception from 6.5Khz to 5.5Khz.
This was a UK TV which is now in Malaysia.
Picture is good but no audio reception because Malaysia uses 5.5 Khz as a carrier wave. The UK uses 6.5Khz.
Can I adjust the audio circuitry in the TV to accept the different frequency ?
The TV is a Toshiba colour TV, model No - 2100TB.
Thanks for your time on this for me.
Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a good New Year.
Best wishes and regards, Paul shaw.

I will speak genericaly about TV sets in general.

There is more than simple frequency involved. There is bandwidth, de-emphasis characteristics for detection, and depth of modulation.

This cannot be feasiby accomplished. The audio decoding in your set uses phase lock loop circuitry that is crystal stabelized and firmware controled. This is factory burned in to the functioning of the IF module's devices.

You can try changing the IF module to start, but there may be a conflict with the main uPC on the motherboard of the set.

When people change countries we always tell them to leave their TV behind and get one for the local broadcasts.

What you can do is get a separate tuner unit for your set, and feed it with that. This way you will be using your set as if it is a monitor. This is the most feasible and reliable solution for you.

Personaly, I would buy a local TV set, and send the old one to a friend as a gift back from where it came from.

I have moved to Poland from the uk and brought my bush 26 inch tv with me and now it can only catch the audio of channels and not the video. Can anyone help?

Hello, you will need to change the frequency chip which modulates the picture. Each country has its own video scan rate. Most of the countries use the same audio chip but not the picture/video scan chip. A technician should do it for you for a reasonable price. I hope I have helped.

How can i connect my advent qrc430 to a hd television

There are two options available with this laptop. Unfortunatley you will not be able to produce a High Definition picture, but nether the less it is possible to connect it to a HD TV.
The connections available are;
1x VGA - You will need a VGA Cable (as long as your HD TV has a VGA/PC input) cheapest found on Ebay. There is also a VGA to HDMI cable. Still wont be HD but an alternative to think about.

1x S-Video (TV-Out) - You will need a S-Video Cable (make sure HD TV has this input) also cheapest on Ebay.

Both of these options do not produce audio through them so for this you will need a 3.5mm audio jack to 3.5mm audio jack. Plug one end into your earphone socket on your laptop and the other end into your HD TV PC Audio in socket/Audio in socket. If you have a Cinema/surround system you will need a 3.5mm audio jack to stereo phono, as long as the surround system has an audio input.
VGA to HDMI cable:
3.5mm AUDIO to 3.5mm AUDIO:
3.5mm AUDIO to PHONO:

Hope this helps. If it does please leave a thumbs up....Thank you.

Panasonic TH-42PX75U Blue Screen

This could be a reception problem of the cable transmission or the cable box if used. Are you using cable or SAT box. Tv goes to blue screen if signal is weak automatically.

There is no picture on the screen yet we can here everything that is being said and change channels and listen to everything but there's just a blank screen.

Good Day, Gibbler;

No picture, has audio.....First try resetting the TV (unplug from a/c from wall), wait 3 to 5 minutes then plug back in. If it is a MIT's check for fluid on PCB's.

Good Night & Luck, big IRISH.

Channel Reception

It sounds like a defective tuner or a IF module as well. It may also be a defective capacitor(s) or cold solder joints inside the tuner circuitry. I woud suggest to use a VCR or a TV convertor connected to an Audio/video input to change channels instead of fixing it.
Good Luck.
