Just got this phone. It is indeed day/month/year. European style. NOT what we want for a phone in the states. Really annoyed with the fact there is not an option. Might be returning it.

SOURCE: remotely check answering machine

Try 0 (zero) plus your "PIN" code.

For instance, if your display shows your code is 98, then dial 098 to access your messages remotely.

This is how our Uniden DXAI5588-3 wireless digital answering system works anyhow.

Good luck!!

SOURCE: retrieve messages from uniden 8885-2

As soon as your message starts, enter 0 and your pin (w/in 2 seconds). Then follow prompts. More specifics, see your telephone manual - you can go to
See pg 64-65 and if you need to set pin, pg 25. Be blessed.

SOURCE: We had Uniden model TRU8866. Handset #2 was damaged and lost. We purchased a new phone through Uniden. It says Set #4 on it. We would like it to say #2 The new phone is a Power max5.8ghz.

In order to re-register handsets with TRU8866 base unit, you have to reset the base unit, de-register the handsets, and then re-register the handsets. To reset the base station, disconnect the power from the base and then press and hold the CID, Intercom, and Exit keys while you connect the power. Wait for the beep, and let go of the keys. Now re-register the handsets - the first one will become #1, and so on.

How do I retrieve my voice mail when I'm away from home?

Go to the base unit.
scroll to the answering machine option.
Under there is a setting for your security key.

you can read what's there, or change it to your own two digit code.

when you call in, during the message, enter that two digit code and it'll go into messages. There's a "toll saver" mode so that the machine answers after two rings instead of 4, so that if you call and it rings 3 times, you know there's no new messages.
