Question about Toshiba MW24FP1 24 in. TV/VCR/DVD Combo

1 Answer

Toshiba MW24FM1 has lines across the top of screen. Doesn't seem to matter whether it is on TV, VCR or DVD mode.

I get horizontal white lies at the top about 2" down the screen when first turned on. Then lines eventually retreat to about 3/4" and stay there. I am living in an assisted living facility and can't take the TV out and can't afford much to repair. Is there a cheap fix??? Help!

Need Toshiba remote access code for this product so I can use a universal remote to operate the VCR and DVD

remote codes are set by the manufacurer of the remote not the tv. if there are any others not listed in instructions for remote, the manufacturer of remote would have them. most combo unit are not able to be programmed into universal remotes due to the fact that there are alot of specialized function buttons on original remote. you can obtain a replacement remote thru toshiba

Sony MW24FM1 either won't respond to DVD commands, or turn-off

Sounds like a bad power board. They have random meltdowns all too often. Usually the cause is an overheated transformer caused by power transistor short outs. Possibly sell it. Could get over $100 for it if sold online.

V-chip setting

Try this:
Turn Unit ON.
Set the DVD Mode.
Press and hold the 'STOP' key on the front panel.
Simultaneously press and hold the '7' key on the remote control unit.
Hold both keys for more than 3 seconds.
The On Screen Display message 'PASSWORD CLEAR' will appear.
The 4 digit password has now been cleared.

LOSS OF T.V. PICTURE

My television has sound but no picture. I can not program the television because I can not see the screen menu. I also have tried to change the antennae but this does nothing to the picture's reception.

Do you have any ideas to correct this problem. There is no warranty.
