I believe it has a foam surround under the top that has the screws which hold the motor assembly on. Also look under the top exhaust connection on the top of the vacuum.

The power cuts in and out on high speed

It might be a power problem. Check the cord and switch first. Follow the power down to the motor to attempt to determine what could be causing it to not get full voltage

My rainbow E2 will run on High speed, but not the low speed.it's as if no power is getting to it,when.you try to switch it on low,but works fine on high

This could be one of two problems. It could be your switch is broken, preventing it from going to low speed. Try clicking it, does it still make a distinctive click sound, does it feel loose? If so it may be your switch: Rainbow e2 power switch
Otherwise if may be your computer in your E2 is starting to go bad. Often times if Rainbow stops going into one of the speeds it is due to a computer going bad. This is an expensive part and repair, so you should probably take it in and make sure it is the computer. Rainbow E2 controller 120v

How do i bypass pcb board on a henry numatic international"?"

You will need to remove all the wires off it and off the hi/lo rocker switch. Then disconnect to two wires on the opposite side of the on/off to the power in side. The two white motor wires then get connected to this switch. The machine will now run on high speed only when turned on.

Miele 5281 vacuum cleaner permanently on high speed

Most likely the speed control board has failed. The solution for this is to replace the electronic unit unless you know of someone who can diagnose and repair circuit boards. The part is common and easily replaced for around $60. Miele's website can point you in the right direction for a service center, or tell me your zip code and I'll look it up for you.

Won't turn off

It's highly probable that the Dyson power switch has gone bad.
You can buy dyson dc14 switch here.
The switch is located right behind the front covering of the neck or handle when you remove the telescopic wand. Please make sure that the vacuum is unplugged before you start this project.

I LOST MY REMOTE CONTROL, INSIDE THE LIGHT THERE IS A PLASTIC HOUSING WITH CIRCUIT BOARD AND DIP SWITCHS THERE ARE SOME NUMBERS ON THE OUTSIDE, FCC NO CHQ8BT7051R MODEL NO UC7051R SERIAL NO...

i got a new remote switch box to put inside the fan, wiring in the lights was a snap but i have a red pink grey and yellow wire that control the fan and i should have tested the wires before i unplugged and re wired the light because the fan was running on low speed when we flipped the switch on thewall sending power to the fixture itself now i suppose there are only 16 different combonations to send power to the fan unless you factor in that maybe the red and pink are high and low respectivly and grey is "close" to black and yellow is white then you gotta have a switch to go high or low, God save us all and bless the person who can tell me what the other 4 wires go to

All of sudden, the vacuum stopped. There is power to and through the on/off switch. Could the motor have just died without warning? Please advise. Thanks

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Very nice vacuum btw! These were the competition for the Kirby Heritage II models.

Most vacuum cleaner motors are brush type motors. If a carbon brush fragments then only one brush contacts the brush ring. If you read power at the motor terminal connection terminals in both the high and low switch positions there are 2 things that are left as the probable failure. Brushes, or motor windings. Resistance of the motor winding should be about 220 Ohms. There are 3 terminals on the motor connection. One common (neutral) and one for power (line) and one ground if you have a 3 pronged power cord. The same thing happned to my Hoover concept one... working fine and just stoped. In my case one of the 2 motor windings failed (high speed winding). I had used it just over 45 seconds when it failed so it did not over heat.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Got a Filter Queen Majestic Limited Edition, the one with the high and low power switch, an I have to change the power cord. How can I open the main unit to reach that power cord? Thanks,

first remove the top cap under your handle.
Then, remove the three screws under the handle.
remove the rubber cover on the switch
undo the clamps on the side of the unit
lift off the chrome cover with the cord on it by the handle itself.

When you have the access there, change the filter inside the upper chamber as well.

Good luck

Sharp R-1480. Microwave would not start - jarred door, and it heated and worked. Replaced bottom of the 3 inter-lock door switches. Turns back on - all seems normal. No heat (it does overall sound...

Hi Mark,

It sounds like you have a magnetron problem now or at very least a rectifier that is shorted.

The elevated sound level comes from one of those two components. But since you had a door switch problem I would lean toward the problem being internal to the magnetron. It is common for them to over draw on the circuit going through the door switch before they fail completely.

To test the high voltage components you need a good ohm meter, the magnetron should read under 1 ohm from terminal to terminal and infinite ohms from either terminal to ground. The rectifier or diode should read 0 or low ohms in one direction and high or infinite in the other. BE SURE THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE SERVICING!

I don't get not power after attach the hose?

Bad power switch
Switch is designed to run motor on higher RPM when hose is connected. The high speed lever mechanism failed and you need the new switch. You can find it HERE. Instructions how to replace it HERE. We can do it for you (labor $50 plus the part It includes shipping of the unit back to you. I am assuming you are within continental USA)
