Question about iRiver H10 MP3 Player

System initializing problem

Hello...my H10 seems to be stuck - it only shows "system initialising - please wait" and the clock goes round. Tried to reset but nothing happening!!...I have nearly 19gb of music etc...!! PLEASE HELP!!!

    i have a 5gb iriver and when i turn it on it just says system initalizing please wait but the little clock dont move and it dont go any farther please help i have 3.5gb of music !!!

Try to do a soft reset else back up the songs, Another way is to fully drain the power for the player for 2-3 days and then

The unit turns on and the initialization screen appears and a clock like icon appears with the hand rotating and just continues to rotate and never initializes. I tried resetting the unit but it just goes...


If you leave it long enough it should initialise. I had to plug it into mains power so the battery doesn't go flat while it's trying to ido so. But then again, your battery might last longer than mine as mine was a factory repair, so there's a laundry list of issues I've had with it.

I'm not sure my solution can help you or not.
I've got this message too but after I formated H10 by Windows.

First backup all files by window explorer.
Open iriver plus and go to > Option > Portable Device Initialization.
This function will delete all data, Please sure that you already backup all of your data from H10.
After initialize process finished, it will ask you to disconnect and connect it agian.
------ Steps below, I can't explain it clearly. May be you will not have the same results as me. I hope it can rise you some ideas how it comes.

I followed that instruction but after I disconnected it again and turned on, expected that msg will disappear, IT's NOT! a bit freak out.
Ok claim down,
I tried to turn it off but I can't then I pushed its battery out and put it back and turned on, that msg showed up again.
Then I connected H10 to Iriver plus again and it upgrades firmware automatically.

At the end after I disconnected and turn on my H10 it works perfectly.

I'm not a native English so my language could make you confused, any questions you can contact me. :)

same problem with mine...i tried to use rockbock firmware...it works but you have to be patient...you have to reset it time and time again before it works....it still works anyways rather than the iriver firmware...

Database refresh on Iriver H10


I have done this. my iriver is almost full i have the 20gb, when the you do the database refresh, it just takes a really long time. mine takes about 2 hours to finish, once you see the clock on database refresh you cant do anything but wait till its finished.
