This is a common problem. The issue is almost certainly a faulty power board, a small PCB that accepts the power input and also holds two USB sockets – located on the top left side of the PC near the screen.
If your machine is in warranty the solution is a Dell repair/replacement.
If out of warranty then you will need to replace the component, or have someone do it for you.
The procedure involves buying a new power board, (Part number 48.4W006.021, available from Dell or more cheaply on Ebay at about £35), and replacing the old component. This is a task you should only undertake if you are comfortable with disassembling your laptop right down to removal of the system board. Instructions can be found in the Dell Service Manual at
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1526/en/SM/index.htm
This is not difficult if you are competent at this type of repair, but I would not recommend it for someone that has not taken a laptop apart before.my charge wil not charge the light were the charge - 430219a.jpg

Does your laptop turn on when it is plugged to the charger? If it does you may have to replace your batteries. If it doesn't your charger might be broken.

Sony pcg-grx52g/b not power ,when the power botton is press later it wil went off back and no more indicating charging.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous.

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

The batteries need charging and when you plug in the charger and the power is on the lights wil flash indicating that the charger is plugged in. Now look at the rear of the chair near where the charger cord plugs into the chair and you should see a voltmeter. With the charger plugged in the voltmeter will indicate about 5-6 amps and after charging overnight the voltmeter should be reading 0 amps. If when you plug in the charger cord and the voltmeter indicates 0 amps then I would suspect that the charger is not working or that the fuse is blown in the charger circuit. The only way to see if the batteries charge would be to borrow or find an offboard charger that will plug into the charger port located under the front of the joystick and after charging for 10-12 hours see if the battery level lights show full charge Hope this helps

This sound as though the power supply adapter needs replacement.
If you can find a compatible power supply adapter perhaps you can charge you laptop.
A company call Batteries Plus may be able to help or Ebay may have you adapter power supply if you do a search.
You may also contact Dell for support on this issue.
Some Dell power supply fail due to overheating.
you may also want to check the power supply connector.

Im trying to charge my phone with a usb cord on my labtop. it says its charging but when i take it off to turn on it goes dead. wil not turn on when its plugged into the computer.

Sir your connector might not be compatible with your phone or your phone doesn't support laptop or pc charging. Might as well use traditional charging and that is by charging your phone with the charger it came with.

1) Ensure you're fully charging. Indicator light on charging unit should NOT get brighter at all when you unplug the helicopter. If it does, then plug helicopter back into charger until light stays the same when you unplug. Note: If you're charging with a usb charger and are using a laptop or the front side data port on your desktop, these may take several hours to fully charge as they are usb 2.0 and do not carry the full 5 volt dc charge. Use powered usb (3.0) on back of desktop, or get a usb/ac adapter. Normal charge time approximately 1 hour. Go by the light, though.
2) Don't run them dead. As soon as you can no longer maintain altitude, land and turn off helicopter. Fully discharging a Li/Po battery (particularly when it's new) will cripple it's ability to hold a charge, and can ruin them.

hope this helps

If you get a power light on your laptop when it is plugged in and you can turn it on then, your battery is bad.

LAPTOP WILL NOT TURN ON

> Just remove the battery and a/c adapter and make the unit as standalone, which means the unit should be connected to any external devices like mouse, monitor, Ethernet cable once its done press and hold the Power button for 1 min - here we can take out the static charge, if the static charge is more the unit wil not power on.

If this does not fix the issue,

Try reseating the memory and try > Even if this does not fix the issue you may have to replace system board
