Yes if you have the red lights and you are out of warranty you need to either send it back to Microsoft and they will fix it for you but it will cost $140 or you can fix it yourself using a proven repair guide

OK , OUT OF WARANTY , AND READY TO FIX IT YOURSELF.

Open the unit up , there are many videos on how to
do this .

Leave the 8 small black screw in ( do not remove them)
remove all the other silver screws .
take of the lid , then pull out the CD rom drive but
leave it plugged in . take out the white fan shroud .
then take out the fan but leave it plugged in, place it
over the C.P.U . Heat sink , now plug in the power
cable and the a/v cable and turn the console on
should take about 5 min for the fan to get up to
full speed and make sure you hold the fan
over the C.P.U. after 10min you should get two reds
unplug the unit and wait 20min reassemble and it should
be working ,for how long who knows.

This is last resort repair for those who are motivated to
try something less aggressive to get there units working.

Have a 1973 65 HP Johnson getting fire to just one plug. Other 2 not firing. Help?

That is a cross over year. Does it have a "pulse pac" with lots of screws under a 4 bolt cover? If so, those are notorious for failure. There should be 3 coils on the head. Move the connecting lead from a non firing cylinder to a firing one and vise versa. If the firing coil moves with the switch, it is probably the pac. If the same one is dead it is probably the coils. On a unit that old, either is possible.

My graphgear 1000 won't feed lead when I try to reload. been working fine. suddenly cannot load lead. any idea? also why isn't your customer service phone number up to date?

Exactly the same thing happened to me (0.5mm GG 1000). I carefully unscrewed the barrel (just above the lead indicator), then unscrewed the interior cartridge (it's a sort of beige colour) just above the tip of the pen. There was a little ring that I guess expand to feed the lead. There was a tiny piece of lead stuck in this ring - I moved it out with the tip of a needle and the pencil worked again.

Basically - might be worth unscrewing before you buy a new one.

My xbox is on and green light is on, but the tv is saying no signal, ive checked all the wires and even got a new hdmi lead

This happens in about 20% of the consoles .
The cause is a open connection under the G.P.U.
that goes to video feed to the hana chip

The sure fire way fix this is to have good repair
shop reflow the G.P.U. and properly re-clamp it
back to the P.C. board.

cost very between 60.00-80.00 with at least
an 90 day warranty .Also try to find a local
repair shop to do the repair and check rating

if you have any questions please ask before you rate this tip

Thank you

Rob

Won't read discs and red lights around the green power button

This sounds like the classic "Red Ring of Death" problem that Xbox is notorious for. Here is the Microsoft Knowledge Base article on it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907534

There are several videos online demonstrating the problem and some solutions. I would recommend getting it repaired by an authorized repair center if you are not confident you can fix it yourself, as any unauthorized repair may void the warranty.

Xbox 360 not working

Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX if you see red rings around the power light.  If you just bought it 7 months ago, it is still under warranty.  Do not use one of the custom shops who say they will fix the red ring errors as this will void your warranty with Microsoft.

Ring of fire

When someone say that his/her Xbox is having red ring problem, It means it needs to be repaired. If you are using Cooler than it is not a cure but a prevention. You could have used cooler before acutally having the problem just to prevent your Xbox. But now you will have to either get it repaired from Microsoft (in case your Xbox's warranty is not expired, but one thing to note is that you will have to wait for at least 3-4 weeks to get back your Xbox) or you can Fix your Xbox's 3 Flashing red lights problem yourself with the help of DIY Video guide available on Internet. You can fix yourself without any technical knowledge.
