Question about Sony Cameras
I have a Sony DSC-W5, Serial # 667674. Very reliable, except recently camera sometimes displays "Access" & lens pulses in & out but won't return and when that happens, I can't take a picture. Message will say "Turn OFF & ON again". That ususally does not resolve the problem. I installed new batteries & that did not immediately fix it. Then walked to the library (with lens sticking out) for computer access & now it works. Huh? Is this a sign of a problem or is it only weak batteries?
Thanks for this service.
No, it's not a battery problem. It's focus system problem - sounds like it stucks from time to time, could be some sand / dirt / dust inside it, focus is sensitive to things like that. It should be cleaned by a professional.
I work in a Sony service center.
