Check the door switches ... do you open the door while it is running? (yes) You have burned the points up on the micro switch. Your magnatron was probably ok.

94% of these kinds of complaints are the micro switch. 2% are capacitor - the others are a mystery to me.

remove the cover - dont touch the silver can check the micro switches

let me know if this helps

The timer counts down but the microwave does not come on

Then you have blown a fuse. Check inside the oven chamber and look for missing powder paint or signs of arcing, if so dispose of the microwave. If the inside is good remove all the screws and remove the cover. Replace the fuse. If the magnetron was making louder noises prior then replace the magnetron. Since the fuse went the giant capacitor is likely bad. While the cabinet is open make sure to look for burned wires, check the continuity of thermal cutoffs, and check the main circuit-board for burned traces or components. The relays in most electronics are known for arcing (spot welding) and staying in the wrong position. Tap them hard with the back end of a screwdriver. During all of this use safe electrical practices by having the power cord unplugged. The capacitor could still have a high charge on it so be careful.

Microwave timer works but will motor will not run/cook.

If everything works on the unit, but you do not receive any heat or possibly the turntable does not turn you have a faulty magnetron (controls heat) and a faulty motor (controls turntable). You would require service on the unit, if parts are available. Some microwaves are so small in cubic foot size, that manufacturer's do not have parts available for purchase/repairs.

I have ' GE JVM1350WW002 ' HR975833S Light and exhaust fan and clock and timer are OK. After I put time and press start button, inside light is on and timer is running but NO heat or cooking. I...

One suggestion I have is to remove the power to the unit and make sure capacitor is discharged, pull the wires off the magnetron and make sure they are tight. Clean connections tighten with pliers and reinstall.

Evry thing works except the food is not heated. It makes the noise, timer counts down..

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side of the blower housing, or magnetron tube assembly)))

GE JVM1440WH01 Will not heat, everything else works. This unit is 6 years old and just stopped heating. The carosel turns, fans work, the timer counts down and lights come on when you start cooking or open...

It could be a number of things, Burnt connections between the magnetron, Capacitor, Diode and transformer, Heater connections loose or burnt, Transformer, Capacitor Diode or Magnetron US. You need to strip it and find out if you are getting about 2000volts to the Mag, Are you getting approx 5volts across the heater terminals?? NOTE that the 2000 Volts can remain in the cap indefinitely and the voltage is LETHAL. IT WILL KILL YOU if you don`t take precautions. Ian

Everything seems to work fine until you hit the start button than nothing happens except the timer starts counting down

If everything appears to be working normally, as you say the timer counts down, the light comes on, turntable rotates etc. then the problem will be linked to the magnetron not operating & not heating the food. This could be just a thermal fuse device which may have gone faulty but if it is a magnetron fault then the cost of getting this replaced can be expensive & it might be more economical to buy a new microwave. I would advise taking it to a local repair centre, one which gives free estimates to get a quote on a price.

JVM1450BA001 GE Microwave runs but does not heat. What is the parts # of the magnetron tube for that model?

Ok, the part number is below but, i would advise to check the Magnetron thermal cut-off(Magnetron thermal fuse). This fuse could have blown.

GE Microwave Model # JE1860: Unit does not heat. The timer counts down, but the oven does not heat.

When you hit Start to cook, do the inside light, cooling fan, and turntable come on?

Any unusual noises? Is it louder or quieter than usual?

These answers will help me judge whether it's in the high voltage section (magnetron, transformer, or diode) or the control section (door switch or control board relay or connection).

Microwave not working, please suggest

Your magnetron tube has failed. According to the warranty on the Profile Series microwave ovens, the magnetron is covered for 5 years from the date of purchase, but labor is not included. I would call GE Customer Service and when they ask for the model number (which begins with JVM) and the serial number, be sure to give the date of purchase as the date you closed on your house. If they insist upon charging you for a service call and labor, I would call my builder's Customer Service Department and demand (very nicely) that they intervene with GE to waive the service and labor charges. That worked for me (Lennar Homes).
