Question about Projection Televisions

Turns off every so often

My TV will work for hours some days, others not. It will go off and when you try to turn it back on, the green light comes on, but goes right back off, like it has to cool down, reset or something before it can be turned back on. At first it just went off, but now there are red and green lines that appear as it is going off and it is happening more frequently than it used to. Is it time for a new TV or can this one be fixed? Hi Guys Our TV is about 1 year old and at times it just shuts off. When this happens it comes up with a message "TV will shut down in a few seconds. Please check airflow". Our TV is however on a stand and was installed like this by Best Buy, with nothing preventing airflow. Your input would be highly appreciated. Andre Prinsloo Brooks, GA, 30205

Re: Turns off every so often

Well guys I found that if one just reads the manual you may find the solution...Mine seemed pretty simple - the room temperature was too warm! I adjusted the heat in the house, the yellow Status light went off works again!

Mitsubishi WD-62827---PICTURE TURNS GREEN

I had the same problem. I deducted that if my TV worked fine for an hour or so and then the colors became bad (green, people's faces purple...), it must be a overheating problem. Simple logic, right? So, I picked up a few tools and a small vaccum and went to work.
I went first for the main source of heat: The lamp. Just a few screws, and I removed it. The lamp cage has a fine screen to prevent the dust to cover the lamp. Mine was covered with dust! And the fan behind the lamp was also covered with dust! Bingo!!! That's my problem! I cleaned everything and vaccumed all the air vents on the the back of the TV. I put the lamp back and checked that the fan was working. The TV works like new since!
Before you are out of a TV for days and spend an arm and a leg for a "Technician" to fix it (replacing expensive parts that didn't need to be replaced in the first place), try what I described above first. It's very simple and it takes only 15 minutes.
Since my TV is 2 1/2 years old, I purchased a replacement lamp. I know that one of these days it will burn out. I'll be ready and my TV will be working again in 15 minutes!
Since my problem was solved, I didn't go to the next step. There must be one or two other cooling fans inside the TV, but they must be working...
Good luck,

Need Help big screen turns on thens goes off

a tv has two components, firstly a power supply produces high voltage to trigger a line transformer, in turn a transformer produces smaller voltages. firstly check if the ht is constantly been produced from a supply, if this is there than go to a line transformer, and check voltages at the output.

Mitsubishi WS-65513 Flashing green light

Good Day, charliek1;
This a very common problem with model. Don't listen to other comments unless the use the correct replacement parts.

SYMPTOM: Power LED does not stop blinking after plug in.

CURE: replace C9B01, C9B02,C9B10, and C9B11 (1000 uFD 16V) on the DM PCB. Replace them with part # 181P734030 (680uFd 16V).

The DM Board (PCB) is located on the very left side of the TV looking from back. Caution on removing Board and note what cables you disconnect to access the Metal Shielded Board.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Tv cuts off and green light flashes

Yup, it seems a lamp problem can give a blinking green light over the 10 times (1 - 10 times for diagnostic codes), but in my case rather than replace the bulb if it works for a minute then resets with the green light blinking, do what I did.
Take the lamp out and inspect it, it has breather screens top and bottom, if it cant breath because there clogged with dust, clean them, and you can remove the screens, use q-tips and clean the inside. I saved the cost of a lamp and it's working fine!

Turns off every so often

If this is a sony or mits it may be the subject of a thermal cutoff service bulletin. (I don't recall which)They have extended the factory warranty on these to cover this problem.
