I put one of the black ink cartridges in the wrong slot and it won't come out. I put in where the thicker one was supposed to go.

I have been gently wiggling my ink cartridge because i put it in the wrong slot and it is stuck. MP530. There must be a better way to remove it than to wiggle it. I paid you 12.00 to tell me something that I already knew.

Slide it sideways, left and right, and then try to remove it. But do not use to much force as the holder may snap.

The only option is to slowly wiggle it until it comes free, there no other way to make it easier. Just be very careful as the machin is mostly plastic and will break very easily!!!

smile, you have not paid anything until you accept the answer. And infortunatley there is not fail safe option built into the printers for imprper install. I can't suggest anything that is not possible. What would you rather me tell you to pry it out with a screwdriver? I would not tell you anthing that's wrong....

Hp photosmart c4480 is saying that the ink is not compatible and wont print

Make sure you are putting the right cartredge into the right slots. Some printers have the same size cartridge for all the colors and black. If you put one in the wrong slot the printer will not be able to recognize the electronic part of it. Also make sure to remove all the little plastic / tape that is usually on the cartridge when you first buy it.

If you know you put it in the right slot, try taking it out and placing it back it. It might need a simple "re-seat". If this still does not work, you may have a defective product. You then have a choice to buy another ink cartridge (note, you can not return opened ink). Or buy a new printer. IF the printer is under warranty you might want to take advantage of that as well.

I have purchased a C6380 HP printer, uppon renewing my ink cartridges my retailer stated that I only need four these being Black (thicker) yellow - blue - red. They state they do not stock the thin black...

You can't use the printer without all the inks installed on it. If the retailer store don't have the ink that you're missing try to check online for the ink cartridge that you need. Try to go on this website for the inks availability.

I baught a new black cartage I also have a blue one that is running out but can't get till my s/s Check gets here. I replaced the old black cartage but it keeps printing in faded red. also the blue left...

Hi Karen,

Did you make sure to put the black cartridge in the slot specifically for the black cartridge? If you did so, then maybe someone else put a red cartridge in the black cartridge slot previously. It seems like there is red ink in the wrong well.

F4235 cartridge will not fit in slot

Be certain that you are using the HP 60 (CD947FN) Black/Tricolor Ink Cartridge.

If you have the correct cartridge, it should fit and just snap into place.

Hope this helps.

HP C6280 with new ink cartridges shows cartridges empty

First make sure you are placing the right
color cartridge into the right slot.
Most Printers are touchy about the
installation of ink cartridges. If the
instructions say to press the cartridge
into the slot until you hear a loud click,
that's what they mean. If at first you
don't succeed, remove the cartridge and
reinsert it into the slot again and press
on it hard till it clicks.
Then your printer should work properly.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

Cartridge problem

Basically, you placed a black ink cartridge [30] into the compartment for the color one [31]?

Make sure you have a black ink cartridge in the left compartment, and a color one in the right one. I don't even think it would properly fit if they were in the wrong slots. They should "click" into place, confirming that they're installed properly.

Printer problems

Unfortunately, both slots have to have the correct cartridge inserted in order to print. You'll need to get the color cartridge, too. Even though you think that you're only using the black one it actually pulls from both. Sorry.

Mp 460 tryin to insert ink for the 1st time

Your post is in the wrong place. I almost got you the wrong directions. LOL

Issue: How do I install the ink cartridge(s)?
Solution: Installing / removing ink cartridges MP160 / MP180 / MP460

Installing / Removing Ink Cartridges To print normally, install or remove ink cartridges in an orderly procedure. Installing ink cartridges:
  1. After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the scanning unit (printer cover). The ink cartridge holder moves to the replacement position.

Note: After confirming that the scanning unit support is fixed into position, release your hands.

  2. Take out a new cartridge from its casing and gently remove the orange protective tape in the direction of the arrow.

Note: - Do not attempt to reattach the protective tape once you have removed it.
    - Do not touch the gold electrical contacts or the print head nozzles after removing the protective tape.

  3. Insert the ink cartridge into the ink cartridge holder.- Black: the left slot- Color: the right slot*

*One black cartridge and one color cartridge must be installed in the machine in order for the printer to operate. It does not matter if the capacities (Standard or High) do not match.

  4. Push up on the front of the cartridge until it locks into place. (A click sound will be heard when the cartridge is locked in place.)

  5. Confirm that the ink cartridges are installed properly.

<1> The ink cartridge is not installed properly.

<2> The ink cartridge is installed properly.

  6. Fold the scanning unit support and close the scanning unit (printer cover).

  7. Wait until the preparatory operation is complete; it takes about one to two minutes.

Removing Ink Cartridges:
  1. After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the scanning unit (printer cover). The ink cartridge holder moves to the replacement position.

  2. Press down on the semi-circular tab to release the cartridge and then remove it.

Note: Handle the ink cartridges carefully to avoid staining clothes and surrounding work area.

  3. Remove and replace each cartridge individually. Or, remove the second cartridge after the first has been removed.

  4. Fold the scanning unit support and close the scanning unit (printer cover).
