I'm having trouble accepting faxes on my Lexmark

I'm having trouble receiving faxes on my Lexmark x4270. Can you tell me what is wrong. Thanks, Heather.

For most phone companies, you may send faxes from your home phone number but to recieve faxes you need to add another phone line, like a business or additional home line. hope this helps please rate me and thanks for choosing enterprise computing solutions.

Here are some guidelines on how to receive faxes behind a PBX system:
  • First, make sure your Lexmark X4270 printer can receive faxes when not connected to PAP2 and the PBX system.
  • Ensure that your printer/fax is connected to correct Phone port on your PAP2.
  • Advise the sender to dial your number so that there is a pause before dialing the extension number to your fax machine. They could insert commas between your fax number and the extension number. It inserts a delay of few seconds each. (e.g. 1234567890,,,,,,,,,,456)

If you prefer to have the printer pick up faxes automatically, I suggest you configure the printer to pickup after the 2nd or 3rd ring before your voicemail picks it up. On the User's Guide, go to Faxing, Receiving a Fax for the instructions. For more info about the printer, go through the User's Guide. Hope this helps.

Fax machine will not let me send fax out or come in. x4270
make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility and line is working.go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set.

Fax problem
Check your preference settings and make sure the fax is set to receive faxes (my friends has 6 different settings) Your manual should tell you how to do this. The default is different for many fax machines.

X4270 lexmark printer hook up
I have a lexmark X4270, I'm having a problem with the fax machine, the display keeps displaying "clear paper Jam", however there is no paper jam. I'm also not being able to recieve or send any faxes. I'm low on ink, would this prevent sending faxes? Any suggestions?
