I have a Rheem Classic Super Quiet 80 gas furnace (for heat). The fan stops when the "heat" turns on.

Any time I ever had trouble, first thing to suspect is the thermostat.
They lose contact sometimes and sometimes you tap the face and they work til next glitch.
If the thermostat has some years on it,go ahead and replace it.
Can't you just leave the heat and fan in auto? That would be best,I think. don-ohio

My thermostat will start the furnace, but the fan will not work.

If it's an older forced air unit furnace, it's likely the inducer motor has malfunctioned. They usually make a lot of noise before they fail, but occasionally they just stop working without warning.

I have a frymaster sr14esd, it turns on and makes noise but does not heat up. Is it my thermostat?

If the unit seems to be powering up and making noise, then you have power and it doesn't sound like a tripped breaker. About the only noise I would expect would be the element heating up and maybe the oil popping unless there is a fan. What kind of noise is it making? IF you have the equipment & know how, you could confirm power to the heating element or check the load the item is placing on the electrical service. One way to check the thermostat is you can turn the Tstat all the way down, turn on the power and see if you can hear the power engage as you slowly bring the temp setting up.

Coleman Evcon Eb15b we replaced thermostat last night so that wasn't it when. Put in auto for heat u can hear a click. See where and feel it heating up tgen u hear. Another. Click and nothing even the heat...

if you turn on heat and no fan comes on, the electric will over heat and trigger high limit switch. the switch either self resets after it cools for a while or needs manual reset. read directions on thermostat for electric heat. energizes fan at same time as heat on calling from stat.

My 98 Buick century is over heating what is a possible cause

Wow. It could be a multitude of different problems. I will tell you a few things to look at first. Possible reasons of over heating include low water, thermostat stuck closed, no thermostat installed, radiator stopped up inside with gunk or outside with bugs, missing lower air dam, fan not running either because of a sensor or a bad fan motor, blown head gasket, cracked head, cracked block. I put these in order of simple to hard and mostly low price to high price.
You didn't say anything about noises but the accessory belt tensioner could be broken and causing the belt to not turn the waterpump sufficiently but you would probably hear the power steering pump growl if that was the problem.
Hope this helps.

Sorry to read about your heater problem.

Goto your furnace, have somebody turn on the heat.
see what kinds of noise your furnace makes. clicks, fans, etc.
If hear nothing, you may have a general control failure.

Also at the thermostat, you should hear a click, if you don't you may need batteries or the stat is defective.

Now I tried to help you. Please help me and vote/rate mt response. Thanks and good luck.

Gas Furnace is not heating anymore.

the fan you hear come on at a call for heat is most likely just the inducer motor. the click you hear is probably the relay for the hot surface ignitor which should glow red, then in turn ignite the main burners. your going to have to determine if the ignitor is coming on. if it isnt the ignitor is bad and will need to be replaced. if it comes on and than shuts off after a few seconds the ifc board is probably at fault

your blower motor is trying to seize up on you, it is time to change it, if the fan doesn't come on first your water heater should not light, the fan comes on first to get eccess gasses out of the burner compartment,, do not light with ot the fan first it could combust
