I think your recovery discs are corrupted. if this happens (0x400110020000100A) again and again you will need to buy new recovery disc. For next time try to make the recovery disc in DVD because if u make in CD there will be some possibility to be corrupted--- Good Luck

Error 0x400110020000100A after hard drive replacement

One of your self-created disks may have an error. I recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your computer to obtain system reload/restore disks directly from them. Often, depending on manufacturer, these are free or very low cost, such as cost+shipping ~$15-$25.

Dear sir, i have a dell inspiron 5010. when i enter my back up dvd, it shows error as 0x400110020000100a. what do i do now? please respond....

This is normally caused by trying to use a recovery disc on a hard drive that has been wiped of the original OS or where a new hard drive has been installed. The recovery DVD is specific to the particular laptop and will not repair an installation of windows if one does not esist.
Did you change the hard drive at all?

You should try using a copy of a windows CD and use that to do a repair install, inseerting the COA number when asked

The error message can also point to a damaged hard drive, or damaged connector between the hard drive and the motherboard.

When i start my pc,it displays operating system not found

Go into the BIOS and see if the hard drive is recognized in there. If it is then try restoring it with the recovery disks. If the error still comes up then that means the hard drive is bad and would need to be replaced. Also if the hard drive is not recognized in the BIOS then that means the hard drive is still bad.

Unable to restore back to factory image read error

Are you using Factory CD/DVD or Made from utlity Disks or from hard drive utility option.
This seems to be a CD read error.
I found the same error code need help for posted for HP, Compaq, Gateway, ETC.
ALL new setups with the MAKE RECOVERY DISK UTILITY and NO factory disks.
Factory recovery disks are available for $60 and up from manufacturers.
Other option is Install Retail OS - get drivers from manufacturer - Install software you want to use.
Other option is expensive but reliable.
Factory option would be for your system only.

When get to factory image recovery screen an error come up 0x400110020000100A

Please make sure that the cables of the hard drive are properly connected. Try to reconnect the cables. There should be 2 cables connected to your hard drive, one is data cable and the other is power. See if this works. If not, you may want to reformat the drive for this to get resolved. Make sure to backup your files, you will have to connect the drive to another computer to do this.

Error : 0x400110020000100A

Look carefully at the hard drive that you are replacing. When you take it out of the [mine is a Compaq f750us] computer you might see, for want of a better term, a "STRETCHER" attached to the contacts/connectors, remove it. Put it on the NEW hard drive, put hard drive into computer. Try it again. I did and I did NOT get the "error" code! Why because the HD is now CONNECTED...touches the contacts..

Recovery Disc Error 0x400110020000100A

If you got this error message when you tried to replace or upgrade the HD, take a look at the hard drive you took out of the computer. Look at it closely. Is there a "stretcher bar" across the contacts? Take the stretcher bar off of the old HD and put it on the new HD. I did so after much consternation and had no more error messages. I do not thank HP for the aggravation the lack of info on this on their support website, or the fact that the HD had to be replaced well before its time was "due".

It sounds to me, since you said it was dropped, that the hard drive may have lost its firm connection to the motherboard. This would cause a bootable disc message to appear since the computer cannot find the operating system stored on the hard drive.

I would try removing the hard drive and reseating it.
Not sure if this is your exact model, but here is a maintenance guide for the C700 (see page 41 for replacing the hard drive, but in your case it will just be removing the hard drive and putting it back in.)
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01301275.pdf

If this is not the correct manual for your model, you can find a list of all C700 models here. http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_pagetype=s-001&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_page=hpcom&submit.y=0&submit.x=0&lang=en&cc=us&y=0&x=0&h_lang=en&h_cc=us&h_query=Presario+C700&x=0&y=0

If reseating the hard drive doesn't work, let me know and I can walk you through some other steps.

Also, can you clarify that what disc you inserted in the drive to get that error?

Hope this helps! : )
