Could be a faulty capacitor or the software needs to be updated. The manufacture will repair it for $50, otherwise you may get lucky enough to find a download on the web. Sometimes the zoom gets stuck and needs to be blown out or jiggled to work again.

All of a sudden I cannot download pictures to my PC as also described by user below. USB port OK but Kodak program does not open up when I turn on camera. Is this a camera problem??

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Camera won't turn on with fully charged batteries. Camera worked fine for 2 years and 2 weeks after warranty was over it will no longer turn on.

Seems that the control board is faulty if you are quite sure that the batteries are fully charges and giving good contact.
Remove off battery for some time and reset the battery , hold down power and see if there is any signs of life.
If not the camera be referred to Kodak with a plea for consideration..you might get an advantage.

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. 4. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. I dropped our Kodak Z710

Doubt it. Kodaks are notorious for the lens becoming knocked out of line when dropped. I had an older model that a child knock off a 3 foot high table and it never worked again. Best thing is to find a local repair shop, call in to Kodak for assistance, or look for another camera.

Fixing your problem could be as simple as cleaning the battery contacts in the camera, or the solution could be a lot more complex and expensive. Here's a link to the Kodak Help Center - it provides a simple Q&A format to diagnose the problem and propose a solution.

When the EasyShare digital camera is not in use, and the battery is fully charged, can I leave the camera (turned off) in the dock?

The EasyShare camera dock automatically stops charging the batteries after it registers a full charge, so it is fine to leave the EasyShare digital camera on the EasyShare camera dock for short periods. However, leaving the camera on the dock for longer periods (days or weeks) is not recommended because this can cause problems with your camera and the batteries.
