My screens not working

Maybe your screen is dying, and you need to replace it. You can test your laptop using an external monitor to test the laptop's GPU. If your laptop works good with an external monitor, then you need to replace your laptop's screen.

The screen my laptop is white like white bord

If the laptop's screen is white, try connecting it to an external monitor (at work or at a friends if you don't have one) and see if the output is normal on an external monitor.

If external output (to a monitor) is normal, then in all likelihood, you have a bad screen.

If external output is problematic (like the laptop's LCD), then in all likelihood, the motherboard is bad.

Without knowing what model your computer is, that'd be how I'd go about trying to nail down where the problem is coming from.

When i try to turn my laptop on, i see a screen with white lines and it won't work. What should i do?

If you have an external monitor or LCD monitor, try connecting it to the laptop and then turn the laptop on - if external video shows up normally then most likely you have a bad screen; if both internal and external video shows pretty much the same white lines / white outs then the system (systemboard) is most likely bad.

When I open my computer, I get a white screen. What is the best of fix this?

Buy a new computer from the sound of it, or take it to a repairer, if the screen is white instantly after power on, there is noting that you can do yourself.

I have a R51 that when it boots up it only shows a white to gray shade screen

If it is at all possible, connect an external monitor to the computer. All laptops should have a port for an external monitor. If the external monitor works then you screen is most likely bad and needs to be replaced. If the external monitor does not work then your motherboard is probably bad.

White screen

The white screen you are getting is it just right after turning on the computer? If yes it means that you were not able to see the Dell logo correct?

Try connecting an external monitor thru VGA. While monitor and laptop is on with white screen please do this. Hold down Fn key then press F8 at the same time. This will toggle the display from the laptop to external monitor. If laptop displays to external monitor means that laptop LCD needs to be replaced.

If you do not have an external monitor try this.
While laptop is OFF. Do this. Hold down the D key then press power button at the same time.
Check if the laptop will display colors the whole screen. If you still see white screen then LCD needs replacement.

LCD mean LCD panel or the whole screen together with LCD cable and Inverter.

Hope this helps.

- try to use a different VGA cable
- check if the monitor is detected by the computer
***please also do a monitor selftest on the external monitor***

When I power on my computer my monitor screen goes a solid whitish gray. worked fine yesterday, and then today nothing.

Laptop LCD screen turned completely white
What can you do if the laptop LCD screen turned completely white? From my experience I can tell that this problem may be related to the following:
1. Loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.
2. Defective LCD screen.
3. Defective motherboard (I assume the graphics card is integrated into the motherboard).

When you turn on the laptop, it starts but the image on the screen is completely white right from the beginning.
Most likely you still can use the laptop with an external monitor. Just connect the monitor to the VGA port on the back or side of your laptop and then switch the video output from internal to external mode.
On Toshiba laptops you can toggle between internal and external screens using Fn+F5 keys. Hold down Fn and press on F5 until you get video on the external monitor.
On IBM laptops use Fn+F7.
On HP laptops use Fn+F4.
It’s possible that you have to use a different key combination on your laptop but you get the idea.
On some laptops, in order to be able to use the external monitor, you have to connect it to the laptop and then restart the laptop so the external monitor is detected by the laptop.
I noticed that in some cases the laptop screen may turn white because of poor connection between the video cable and the LCD screen. If you want to check this connection, you’ll have to take apart the display panel because the connector is located on the back side of the LCD screen.
I always check the video cable connection first. Reconnecting the video cable may fix your problem.
If reconnecting the video cable doesn’t help, most likely you have a problem either with the LCD screen or with the motherboard.
The best way to find out which one is causing the problem is testing the laptop with another working LCD screen. Without this test you’ll have to guess because as I mentioned before this could either bad motherboard or bad LCD screen.
You’ll have to disconnect the video cable from the LCD screen and the inverter board. After that you connect another working screen and test video.
The original screen is white but my test screen works normal and I can see the image. After this test I can tell that the problem must be related to the screen.
After I assembled everything back together and connected the original LCD, it’s still white.
CONCLUSION.
In my case this problem is related to the LCD screen and it has to be replaced.

Cant see anything but white screen after bootup

Plug in an external monitor and use the F key with the FN to toggle between lcd and external monitor. On my laptops It is the FN and F5. If the external monitor works the problem is the the inverter board, the flex ribbon cable or the LCD. If the external monitor is also messed up then the problem is probably the video card/ motherboard.
