You can try this:

If you need a rectangle that is not parallel to the axes, use the formulae for the rotation of the axes and replace the small x, y in the above inequalities with the following values

x = XcosA - YsinA; and y = XsinA + YcosA

where capital X and Y denote the new x and y after rotation, A is the angle of rotation measured anticlockwise from the x-axis.
