How high is the drop? Lenses of our cameras use motor and gears that varied the focus. Your error that you are having probably indicate that some of the mechanical part of the lens could damaged or misaligned as caused by impact of the fall.

The lens is out and wont go back in.. gettin an error message 126, 1,0, -7

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Lens is stuck out. Makes a clicking nose and has error message.

Sorry, it needs to go in for service.
Usually this type of fault happens due to sand/ grit in the mechanism or it has suffered a knock/ drop.
If it is grit/ sand then they may just clean the lens mechanism.
If it has suffered an impact, then it will probably need replacement. you may want to get your household insurance involved at that point.

Sorry for the bad news.
Cheers.

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Camera wont turn on due to lens problem....

Same problem. I applied pressure to the extended lens by slightly twisting it from side to side. Hit the power button and the lens retracted and then extended again. The camera seems to be working properly.
