The noise is quite possibly the freezer fan cutting ice behind the wall
you may have an issue with your defrost system

This always happens when you don't have 'FROST-FREE' refrigerator. Unplug the power cord or switch off the freezer for about one hour or more when lots of frost stacks (maybe weekly). Turn down the cold lavel to 2-3 instead of higher if there are not so many items in the freezer.

FRIG SIDE ISN'T COOLING WELL, FROST IN THE BACK OF THE FREEZER AND IT ISN'T FREEZING THE ICE CREAM HARD, ALSO HASN'T MADE ICE SINCE THE PROBLEM STARTED.

sounds like it should be a frost free unit what happens is they stop auto defrosting and the ice builds up in the freezer compartment where you cant see it leave it switched off to defrost it for a couple of days or take of the pannel inside the freezer so that you can see the ice build up defrost it replace pannel then switch back on but be warned it will happen again

Our 8 year old refrigerator has recently begun making a continuous tapping sound. The sounds stops when you open the bottom freezer door.

the compresor fan is might make that sound or the fan in your freezer is tuching something like build up ice... see if you can reach it and clean it.

Ice is building up on the back cooling panal in frost free referi

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

The ice dispenser door does not close all the way, and frost building up inside.

You are sure about the model number listed above your post? There are many versions of that model so I just need to confirm. Has the fresh food compartment begun to warm up slightly? Is frost building up on back freezer wall indicating a defrost problem. That model has control boards that make your refrigerator more efficient. If you need more help I will give you my email address so we can communicate directly, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Refrigerator is barley cold, still makes ice, condensation inside of frostless freezer

Hi: The fact that it still makes ice tells me the freezer is a zero degrees. When you said condensation in the freezer did you mean frost? If your defrost heater fails it will cause the frost free freezer to build up frost. The frost will build up and block the vent that supplies the cold air to the fresh food. The defrost heater is behind the metal wall at the back of the freezer, at the very bottom. A glass tube with a metal coil in it. The coil can break and stop the defrosting. Replace that. Use a hair dryer to melt the frost from behind the panel. All of it top to bottom. You need to remove all the frost to free up the airways. I hope this helps, Jeff

Ice build-up

Defected DEFROST HEATER can cause frost build up on the panel at the back of the freezer,and freezer stop cooling and ice frozen on unit so air could not flow to refrigerator side.Water will coming out caused of unbalanced freezing,and causing the flooding of water in the floor. You must change this defroster heater assembly so it will works normal again..

Hope this may help;
