Hi I turn on my digital camera by holding down the button for three seconds bu as soon as it looks like starting up it shuts down, have replace rechargeable batteries, help?

- Same problem-- beeps, the Cybershot logo apears, and it turns off. When you hold on the arrow button and press the on button it will let you see the photos. when you hit the play arrow again it turns off.- GuestMar 02, 2008

make sure that the rechargable batteries mAh value is at least 1800, personally i recomend 2100

- I would like to know if any of you have tried using my last solution and if you actually took note of the mAh value? Electrical Dealers do not have to supply batteries with the goods sold but in cases like cameras and other personal devices they do. They don't supply rechargeable batteries because they cost alot more, and they know you are going to need to purchase them in the near future with a charger!. A digital camera with multi functions such as a Picture viewer,Video,Sound recorder & flash uses alot of power. Normal batteries dont have the power to run a LCD screen and take multiple pictures like a high charged battery. Most dealers will,if you ask them tell you that a Generic digital camera requires an mAh of atleast 1800. I had the same problems as you have described and took the camera back to the retailer to which i was told i just need to purchase rechargeable batteries.Which of corse he promtly showed me a selection of batteries and chargers! I put them in there and then and hey presto it worked perfectly.Yes
