Question about LG 37LG30 37 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

Samsung TV - have sound/auto volume set to on. When TV is turned off and then on, tv volume is extremely low. Go back to sound menu, it shows "on" but if you go back and act like you are turning in on, the volume increases. What settings am I missing to keep the volume level Up?

    Good morning Dish Fritter:

My question may have not been clear.

Without the auto volume on, the TV's sound literally has to be turned all the way up (90+) for reasonable listening. With the auto volume on, the TV sound can be set around 25-30.

It seems like the auto volume gets turned off when the TV gets turned off even though on the menu it shows that it is on.

It can be corrected by going into the main menu/sound/auto volume/yes and then the sound returns to the higher level. This is a real pain to do every time the TV gets turned on.

Hope this clarifies my question and thanks for your assistance.

Hello Blindrid,
What I would suggest you do is Press your MENU button on the tv remote, Then down to SOUND and then Turn the AUTO VOLUME to OFF. Then come out of the menu screen.
Just to check that it has all work correctly. turn you volume upto a certain number for example 25
Then turn your TV off the turn it back on. Wait until it is displaying a picture then press the volume button Once either up or down and you should see that it will go to 24 or 26 depending on what button you pressed for the volume. This will keep your volume set to whatever you had it on before you turned the tv off.

Hope this Helps Please leave a thumbs up.

Cheers

Maybe try headphones settings instead of internal speakers and consider the sound bar as headphones. Some TV's may limit output to headphones as well but start there.
Assuming you have a Samsung TV, look at your TV settings.
You may have the sound level on auto.
Next check to see if you are set for the external speakers, you might have to look in additional settings to find this.
Should you have another brand of TV the concept is the same.
so check settings for TV for external output.

Well the difference between a Samsung and Toshiba are pretty extensive, so without knowing what TV and what model, we cant help very thoroughly. Have you checked with the manufacturer directly? it sounds like the TV is quite new.

Sharp 32c231 volume too low

If you are using a cable box with this set, the problem may be in the box settings.
Try this:
open the settings menu on the box . You may have to select"more settings" or something like that title to find the audio selections.
Under the audio, you will find recording and viewing volume settings. put these to maximum and save.
Your volume should now be more than adequate.

May be a defect but, if you notice the sound changes with different channels or movies or HD or Standard, look for a volume limiter control button in the menu setup under audio control. Sometimes the menu has a control that you can turn on to limit different volume levels during the shows origination.
