Chest freezer Compressor never runs. Chest not cooling

First, they said in the manual not to plug the cord into an adapter if you don't have a outlet with the ground pole. I have an old house and all of my outlets in my kitchen don't have a hole to put the cord. I've been using adapters. So I changed that with a new outlet. This outlet also has my fridge, micromave, toaster and lights. Should I run a new wire to my breaker box?

When I plug in the chest freezer the lights come on and the alarm goes off giving me a warning that it is to warm. The compressor never comes on, and the box never gets cold.I don't have a meter to check the thermostat.

    What should I do next?

    Thanks,

    Buck

Make sure you have power going to the unit. Check the thermostat for power on both sides going in and coming out. You need to give me more info. before I can suggest anything else.

I wouldnt worry about the ground and the adapter thing right now, its there as a safety it does not effect the way it works. Without the right equipment its going to be hard to help you, but here it goes. Unplug the power cord, take the wires on the thermostat and connect them together, by-passing the thermostat. plug it in, go to the compressor, see if its running, if not, observe it, see if its making a buzzing sound for a few seconds then clicks and stops. Repeating every minute or so. If this is happening, then the compressor is stuck=need new one. If its still dead silent, cut the power again remove the plastic cover on the compressor and check the wires going to it, sometimes its only a burnt wire there.

Hello,I defrosted my electrolux chest freezer and now problem is power is on but not freezing, alarm light keeps coming and keeps bleeping every 2 minutes and goes off and on

Is the compressor running? if it is running, but there is no cooling, it is time to buy a new freezer.
If the compressor is NOT running, I would suspect the compressor start relay.
How did you defrost it?

I have whirpool chest freezer defrosted and off for 4 months then turned on 2 red lights going motor is running but not freezing turned up temp to coldest tempurature with amber light on stil the motor...

Since the motor is running, the compressor it is connected to must also be running. The compressor is the thing that provides the cooling under normal circumstances. The only thing I can think of as to why you are not getting cooling is that the refrigerant charge has leaked out of the system. I don't know anything about the red lights you mention.

My GE chest freezer stop freezing. the light is on no sounds from the freezer. what could be the problem?

There are many reasons why is not working. 1.if the compressor is not running, Relay or overload burn, they are attached to the side of the compressor 2, thermostat may not be working. 3. if all of the part i mentioned are working fine your compressor may need to be replace.4 if the compressor runs but still don't get cool, there is a internal gas leak inside the freezer. The only way to find out theses issues, is by having the necessary tools and experience.

My refrigerator is running but not cooling compressor is hot

Check the consenser and see if it is clean.
Be sure the compressor is running and not just the condenser fan.

I have a freezer chest the compressor comes on but it never cools

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.

Freezer compressor running, but no cooling

If the compressor is running and there's no cooling, chances are you have a sealed system leak somewhere. Meaning the machine has lost it's refrigerant charge. Pretty much need a set of gages at this point and start checking for potential leaks.

chest freezer operation is among the simplest available. if the compressor is running and its not cooling there are only 2 possibilities. low or no refrigerant and or a bad compressor. so if you have the ability to return the unit I would. could luck peyton

Compressor Stopping

compressor is running overloaded possible problems bad relay/overload /capacitor dirty or clogged condensers if the unit uses a condenser fan suspect a bad fan. and defective thermostats are notorious for short cycling. id check the coils first and if dirty clean up maybe that can be the major problem.

Kenmore 23.1 cf Chest Freezer not cooling below 14F

Make sure everything is working, I.E. compressor, fans. Now I need to know if the freezer shuts off at 14 degrees, or does it continue to run without making temp. If it shuts off, then the first place to look is the thermostat. It may be out of calibration. If it continues to run, then the solution may be as simple as cleaning the condenser coil. or the defrost has malfunctioned somehow. Defrost probleams will cause excess ice on the inside coil. You may need to remove the panels to see how much ice is on it. It sounds like the compressor is good, as it is pretty cold. Just not cold enough. A deep freeze should be at least 0.

Kenmore chest freezer.

Most likely a bad compressor. You could try a new relay on it first.
