Well if this is happening with all the programs that you might like to try to use the system restore option.Just type system restore in the start search and than choose and date on which you think the system was working fine.
I hope this works for you

How can i retrieve my mail icon

The use of desktop icons has served to simplify opening and using programs in Microsoft Windows.
With a simple click of the mouse, an entire program can be opened.

Unfortunately those desktop icons can also be deleted, sometimes accidentally or sometimes by the desktop cleaning utility that runs in Windows, but there is a simple process to recover desktop icons.

Just follow these steps.

Click it without a ticket.
To restore lost desktop icons, first place your mouse anywhere in a blank area on your desktop. Once you have placed your cursor in an unused area of the desktop, right click.

Check the pop up.
Once you have right-clicked your mouse in the unused area of your desktop you will receive a pop up menu or prompt.

Choose "Properties" by left clicking it with your mouse.

Grab that tab. Once you have clicked on "Properties" you will receive a dialog box.
Click on the tab labeled "Desktop."

Customize it.
Once you have clicked the "Desktop" tab choose "Customize Desktop" which will prompt another dialog box to open.

From there click on the "General" tab.

Restore order.

After you have clicked the "General" tab you will see a list of icons.
Simply choose the icons you want restored or placed on the desktop and then click "OK."

That's it.

You have now successfully restored your desktop icons.

I want my yahoo mail on my desk top how can i do it

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but any of these ways will put a Yahoo! Mail shortcut icon on your desktop.

To put a Yahoo! Mail shortcut icon on your desktop, go to Yahoo! Mail page http://www.mail.yahoo.com/ , at the top of your screen click File, a menu drops down, put your mouse cursor on Send, a menu pops up, click Shortcut to Desktop.

Another way: Go to Yahoo! Mail page, right click on a blank space, a menu pops up, click Create Shortcut, a pop up asks "Do you want to put a shortcut to this website on your desktop", click Yes.

Another way: If it is listed in All Programs: Click Start > All Programs > right click on Yahoo! Mail > point to Send To and on the menu that pops up click Desktop ( create shortcut ).

Another way: Right click on desktop > point to New and on the menu that pops up click Shortcut > in the box that opens type www.mail.yahoo.com > click Next and in the next box that opens type Yahoo! Mail and click Finish.

Another way: Go to Yahoo! Mail Page > left click and hold on the blue bar at the top of your broeser window and pull down far enough to expose the desktop, or drag one side in or the bottom up (if it won't move, click the box beside the X at the top right corner of the screen to Restore Down) > left click and hold on the icon on the left of the address on the address bar and drag it to the desktop and release it, then you can minimize the window and left click on the icon and hold and drag it to where you want it on your desktop.

WANT TO INSTALL AIM NOT SURE HOW TO DO THAT

Hello
Go to the official AIM download website (see Resources) and click on the "Download" link at the top of the page. A pop-up window will open that will display the status of your download.
Install AIM. Once the program has finished downloading, a new icon will appear on your Windows desktop. Double-click on this icon to start the installation process. You will have to click through a few prompts for the install to be successful. If you do not already have an AIM username, you will be able to sign up for it during this phase of the process.
Restart your computer. This will ensure that the program was installed correctly, and is the final step of the installation process.
Launch the program. You should now have a shortcut to AIM on your desktop, and you will also have a link to the program in your Windows system tray and the "Programs" section of the "Start" menu.
Good luck

I want to have YAHOO MAIL logo on desktop

Hello there!

Any of these ways will put a Yahoo! Mail shortcut icon on your desktop. If you want another Yahoo! shortcut instead of Yahoo! Mail, just substitute that Yahoo! page for Yahoo! Mail in the instructions.

Cant uninstall my PS c6280. Have tried all 4 steps like your support side proposed Please help me Regards Olof Dedering

In order to begin uninstalling your printer, make sure that it is still plugged in so that it is recognized when you start the computer. To begin, navigate and click the "Start" button on the bottom left corner of your desktop. Once your program menu generates, click on "Control Panel." Your Control Panel will open, and you should navigate to the icon for Printers. When the window populates, it will have all printers that are installed on your computer available to click on. Once you have highlighted the printer you wish to uninstall, click on the "Delete Printer" button.

A new window will pop up asking you "Are you Sure You Want To Delete This Printer?" If you are certain you no longer want this installed on your computer, click "Yes." A new window for "Wise Install Wizard will open." This gives you the name of the printer you are going to uninstall in the middle section of the window, as well as options to "Repair" or "Cancel." If you are only having problems with your printer, it is suggested that you hit the bubble next to "Repair" and continue from here. If you indeed wish to uninstall, click the bubble next to "Uninstal"l and then hit "Next."

The window moves to the next step in the process for you. This new window asks you if you would like to uninstall all related files for this printer including saved updates. Click on "Yes," because without the printer installed, the updates for the printer are only using up space on your hard drive.

A new window will open showing the progress of your command. You will see a progress bar in Vista or files moving from one folder to another in XP. The time needed to complete the process is shown in the middle portion of the window underneath the progress bar. Depending on the speed of your processor, this can take as little as 15 seconds and as much as two minutes. Once the process is complete, a new window will open saying "Uninstall Complete." You then want to click on the "Close" button on the bottom right of this box to close it.

Any time you uninstall a program from your computer, it is recommended that you restart for the changes to take effect. Newer computers always have a pop up box that will open as soon as the uninstall is complete, alerting you for the need to restart. Click on "Restart Now."

If your computer is an older model, you may have to manually restart your system. In order to do so, navigate to and click on your "Start" button on the bottom left corner of your desktop. In Vista, click on the power button that is located at the bottom of your program menu, and then hit "Restart." Using XP, open your Start Up Menu, and navigate to your power options. Click on "Restart," and your computer will begin to shut down. Once it restarts, the changes you specified during the uninstall process will take effect, and your printer is now removed from your computer.

How to install avast antivirus

Hi,

Go to the Avast Antivirus homepage (www.avira.com). Once it is loaded, go to the "Desktop Solutions" tab at the top of the page.

Go to the left on the next page and click on Home Edition. You will then be brought to a page where you can either download the software directly or register. Click on the register tab.

Enter your email address, your name and confirm that you are only using the program for personal use. Click the Submit button and wait for an email. Leave this window open.

Once you receive your registration key, go back to the registration/download page and click on Download. When the pop-up window opens, make sure to save the binary file to your desktop.

Run the setup program that you just downloaded and confirm all of your information. When prompted, make sure you select the typical configuration, unless you are comfortable customizing antivirus software.

Once the installation has finished, restart your computer. After your computer boots back up, open Avast and insert the registration key that you received in your email.

Set your antivirus auto-scan. I find it is best to pick a weekly time when you know your computer will be on but you won't be doing anything important. After you set other preferences, you'll be done and Avast will take care of your computer's protection all by itself.

Best regards.
