Question about HP Pavilion DV6700T Notebook PC

1 Answer

My laptop turns on, but the screen stays blank.

I left my laptop plugged in all night, and then when I went to open it, the mouse wouldn't move, so I restarted it. When it turned back on, the screen would not turn on.

did you leave it open with the screen on the whole night? or was there a screen saver / sleep setting in place. (by default, they are there. however, if you changed them, you may have burnt out the screen)

How to get the acer description to quit automatically coming on while computer is idle?

Hello, maybe it's on your screensaver, so to change or disable your screensaver, move your mouse pointer to a blank part of the desktop.
Right-click the mouse button, and scroll down to 'properties'. Left-click on 'properties'. This opens up 'display properties' . You will see some tabs along the top of this box, select 'Screen Saver' and you will see a screen saver drop-down box. Make a mental note of the current settings and try selecting a different one. Then left-click 'Apply' , then 'OK'

Black screen

Sounds like your screen is being switched to "Power Save" mode due to inactivity. This should switch back when the mouse is moved. This can take several seconds on a laptop. You can remove this "Power Save" by right clicking anywhere on blank desktop, select "Properties", "Screen Saver" and "Power Settings" then select "Always On" for the monitor.

Compaq presario V2000 doesn't start

It sounds like one of the most frequent failure for a laptop, the plug on the back of your laptop is probably broken. Check if it's loose, try to move the plug until you get the orange light. If it's the case, someone need to resolder/replace the plug on the motherboard.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Screen on Toshiba M35x S149 Laptop blank/flickers

Ok, from the beginning. Can you do a cold boot and get into the bios? (is there an image on the screen then)
Secondly, can you connect to an external monitor and see an image?
Did it do this only when it was heading in to hibernation? If so, it sounds like the power management needs some adjustment.
If there's no image on the external monitor, you may have a video/motherboard problem, or it still could be the operating system/power management.
It all depends on if you have video in bios.
Let me know.
Good luck
