SOURCE: language set up!
Go to the main menu and select the one with the volume picture which is settings. Then select the fourth one day the list which is language. Select the first option on the language list, it should be english.

when the phone is in standby, press and hold cid/menu.press down arrow to move to language,press select to choose english,etc.when display shows language you want, use up/down arrows to move to another menu item,or press end to return to standby.

You didn't say what manufacturer your device is, but usually if you co to their web site youcan down load the language. I had the same problem on a iQue3600 and just did a hot sync with the language I wanted. Worked fine.

or if you feel uncomfortable doing this, then you could try and find a .torrent for motorola pc suite, and motorola phone tools [Pirate Bay has one:)]. of course you'll need to install the V3i USB driver first. The Automatic Phone Software Update in Tools is fantastic, does everything for you, just don't unplug the phone for the 20 minutes it takes to back up the phone's settings and flash the phone's hard drive.
